Evening, Wednesday, Black Rock City 2014. Led by Paavo and Tony of Above and Beyond, bathing in the lavender sunset, we practiced an hour of yoga with Elena Brower. We gathered, strengthened, listened and received the gift of quiet. We landed at home in our own hearts. This class reminds us that we are never alone, and that no matter where we are, we are on the path, and right at home.

As I'm finishing up an incredible last year of college, and getting to do all of these amazing things in music, it's felt natural making happy, lighthearted songs that really capture my mood these days. I've spent a large part of the last year exploring darker sounds and textures. I definitely want to continue experimenting in that direction, but I wouldn't want to neglect my goofy, cheerful side either. "You Give Me Butterflies" is a carefree day at the beach, spent with your friends, acting like 8 year-olds.

Real name: J.Atlas, Thriftworks, raised in Pennsylvania, has toured with Bassnectar and STS9, leading to a chock-full schedule of dates around the world. TheUntz.com is thrilled to present an exclusive mix from Jake Atlas, a.k.a. Thriftworks. Deliberately pulsing with eerie effects, shrouded in mystery, and leaning towards the syrupy end of the tempo spectrum, this 30-minute mix is bursting with unreleased content. Thriftworks' signature gooped-out hip-hop instrumentals blend flavors of the east with beats of the west, and the sonic backdrop is primed for getting busy on the dance floor and in the bedroom.

Thriftworks is set to embark on Bassnectar's Spring Tour, which hits a number of (relatively) intimate venues on the east coast. These special shows will be taking place in Boston at the House of Blues, The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD, The Tabernacle in Atlanta, as well as dates in North and South Carolina. A number of those stops include multiple night stands, as well, so fans will get to see a broad spectrum of Atlas' music.

On May 30th, Thriftworks hits Infrasound Music Festival, presented by TheUntz.com. The next night, May 31st, he rejoins Bassnectar at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Other notable stops this summer include Electric Forest, Big Dub Candy Mountain, Gratifly, Firefly, and Sonic Bloom.
