UFiP “ART 1” 36” Brass Tam Tam/Gong with acid-etched surface

This is a tensioned disc-gong, made of brass. Like UFiP's “Targo” gongs, it shares properties of both gong and cymbal. However where the sound of the cast-bronze Targo design is etherial and timeless, the sound of ART 1 is earthy and ancient. This gong is rings with great harmonic detail at all dynamic levels, making it suitable for use with bowls and other intimate sound instruments as well as situations which require loud washes and roars.

The acid-etched surface treatment is a proprietary UFiP process which reduces resistance on the front face of the gong, resulting in greater responsiveness and harmonic detail.

This gong is new and for sale.
