The latest strictly limited edition 7" and digital release from  Fresh Up Records, a label specialising in brand-new, old-sounding synth funk, Moog disco and library sounds.

This time, Fresh Up founder Ed DMX brings us two synthy jams using his original DMX Krew name and 80s feel.

"Hot Punch" is just what you need to get your party started: an intoxicatingly spicy blend of vintage synths and catch melodies.

"My Metro" is a slightly slower laser-boogie instrumental featuring heavy drums and bass backing up some sweet synth and Rhodes grooving.

This time around it's our strongest release so far, from dynamic duo Ike 'N' Mike.

A side "Star Epoch" is an uptempo disco number with rhythm guitar picking worthy of Nile Rodgers backing up some cheeky synth melodies.

B side "Dimestore Boogie" sees Ike 'N' Mike flexing their muso muscles in a jazz-influenced smooth boogie number with a funky vocoder vocal.

Fresh Up specialise in strictly limited edition 45rpm singles showcasing the finest in new-old-sounding library funk, Moog disco and vocoder boogie sounds.

BBII are a mysterious all-star session group gathered from 
the four corners of London to compose and record funky 
disco and soundtrack gems. 

"Red Giant" is an italo-ish chugging electronic disco 
number with chunky synthpop drums and library melodies, 
plus a cold breakdown. 
 
"Car Chase" sees more of the BBII musicians backing up 
squealing synths in a 70s cop show funk jam. Plenty of 
Rhodes, Clav and Moog as well as nice funky percussion 
playing and police siren fx.

library sounds.
Two numbers from regular label contributors BBII feature on this release.

"An Evening At Bunsley Hall" is a library funk party jam led by a vintage string machine melody over a Roland TB-303 bassline (being used the way Roland intended back when they thought it was going to replace bass players.)
"Behind The Scenes" is an excerpt from a BBII jam session featuring some bass guitar pulling, funky synth and plenty of guitar solos.

Song of Storms

Another strictly limited edition 7" and digital release from London-based funkateers Fresh Up Records, a label specialising in brand-new, old-sounding synth funk, Moog disco and library sounds.

Fresh Up Players are a group of session musicians recording their dusty Moog funk jams direct to analogue tape in a smoky London studio.

"Blip Culture" is the kind of record Dick Hyman might have made if he'd ever visited the BBC Radiophonic Workshop: a greasy funk jam punctuated by the rawest analogue bleeps and whooshes.

"Lemon Drops" highlights the Fender Rhodes electric piano which takes the lead over another dirty funk rhythm. This time the drummer plays the hi-hat stand instead of the hi-hat and bass duties were fulfilled by our Roland Transistor Bass 303 unit.
