After another afternoon of noodling I now have the whole song laid out minus the vocals (waiting till I'm no longer in the fevered grip of manflu before I attempt those). 

Two additional tracks used over the intro sample:

- Lead guitar using heavy reverb and delay in the chorus
- Thom's "whoo-whoos" at the end (as I can still manage falsetto).

Also discovered mid-production that iPad GarageBand only allows 10 sections per song, which was very nearly a disaster, but luckily managed to backtrack and re-edit so it all fit. *shakes fist at arbitrary limits*
