Fat Ready & M.A.T Beatz - wu

At first, this song was to be a new age or a world beat song! I never had in mind to compose a blues! But, about halfway of the song, I played a chord (Bb7) and I understood right a way there will a blues integrated to the song.  Another thing which is interesting about this song (like the blues) it is supposed to be in Bb but the first chord the song is a Bmaj7… :-) anyway… I guess this song could reflect the blues that all Canadian have halfway of the winter. :-) But in this case, I might have the blues because I am halfway of my chemo treatment (6/1 2). 
This being said, you have to know that even if I am less present on SC, you cannot imagine how SC is helpful to me… During my treatment, I bring my laptop and listen to all the collaborations I did my SC friends. You cannot imagine how you guys help me to make these 3 hrs and half to pass by so fast…

Soundtrack from the movie Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (戦場のメリークリスマス), a.k.a. Furyo in Europe, directed by Nagisa Oshima, and starring David Bowie, Tom Conti, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Takeshi Kitano.

The instrument is a Kawai VPC1 controlling a Clavia Nord Stage 2, using a sampled Yamaha C7 grand piano, and... straight from the 80's a sampled preset named "Touch Perco" from the Yamaha DX7 mk2 synth.

Kites Over Malvern pays tribute to the English composer Edward Elgar, depicting him pursuing his passion for flying kites over the Malvern Hills. As he stands on the hillside, the kites are reeling in the cosmic symphony that he feels all around. He watches the kites soaring skywards and holds himself in readiness to transcribe this enigmatic artistry.

One of the pre-eminent musical figures of his time, Elgar bridged the nineteenth and twentieth centuries as the finest English composer since the days of Handel and Purcell. Elgar's most fruitful period was the first decade of the twentieth century, during which he wrote some of his noblest, most expressive music, including the Symphony No. 1 in A flat major, Op. 55 (1907-1908), and the Violin Concerto in B minor, Op. 61 (1909-1910). His best-known works from this period, however, are the first four of his Pomp and Circumstance Marches (1901-1907); the first of these, subtitled "Land of Hope and Glory," became an unofficial second national anthem for the British Empire.

Kites Over Malvern offers a glimpse of the man in his earlier years before public recognition, drawing inspiration from his love of the open countryside and consolation for his artistic isolation.

I've launched this account (and my YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/edwardcortesmusic ) to spread some of the music I've composed, so all the music that I upload to this page is original and I am the "guilty" of it. 
I've composed in different genres, starting with classical music and also pop, rock, jazz, electronic, electro-acoustic, etc. Sorry if some of my tracks are long for these days ears, I begg you to try to be patient.

I hope you can enjoy my music and your comments will be more than welcome,  and I hope to interact with your opinions.
