Introducing Hamatsuki - Mamuka Tskhadaia - DJ and Producer from Tbilisi, Georgia. As a day one resident of Horoom / Bassiani he's a vivid part of the local scene while his productions for iconic labels like Further Electronics and georgian labels Fantastic Planet and Mind Controlled Rectifier made him known to the international crowd.

His contribution for the Warning Mix Series was recorded at Horoom on the opening night of the season. Enjoy two and a half our of warm House grooveres, techy bangers and slick Electro cuts, mixed in a gentle yet energetic way. Let the bass roll!

Next up comes a very special set recorded live at Bassiani/Horoom’s ten year anniversary in early October. Having made common cause with the club in its infancy, longtime resident Hamatsuki (Mamuka Tskhadaia) and Morevi Records key figure Skyra (Sandro Papaskiri) are a perfect vector for the club’s vision. These two homegrown talents are legends in their own right, and well versed in their musical skill, teaming up on occasion and getting people moving to the sound of their surging beats. The community built around them and their Georgian confrères has grown exponentially since casual beginnings on the ground in Tbilisi, and the timeless mark they’ve left on the soul of the city is testament to its creative spirit. From chilled-out releases to laid back sets, the duo have an innate feeling for the other that complements and sparks surprising new ideas, downtempo house that sounds as fresh today as it did back then. For Bassiani Podcast 235, the pair flex their well-trained muscle and deliver an hour of groovy and undulating sounds, unbent rhythms for the dancing class. Tbilisi energy to the letter. skyra is one of the local artists who has put Georgia's underground scene firmly on the map. His regular appearances at Tbilisi's cult Bassiani club have been key to that, and in August, he will showcase exactly what he's all about when he plays live for us at Selectors with Hamatsuki: deep but driving house music that's bathed in lush melodics but never short on low-end power. Next year, he has plenty of music coming up, including a release on Unforeseen with Hamatsuki.

To get you in the mood for all that is to come, he has laid down a one-hour live showcase that layers up smooth, supple, seductive drums with dreamy pads and neon melodies. The whole set glows with a late-night warmth and finds a perfect balance between beauty and beat-driven hypnosis.

Bassiani residents Hamatsuki and Skyra are up next with another recording from October’s anniversary night. This isn’t the first time the duo have joined forces to celebrate the club’s birthday but it might just be their best; as Tbilisi residents and longtime Bassiani collaborators, the pair know what makes the club tick. Their chilled out releases and slick-tongued sets are a paragon of Georgian electronic talent, on the one hand supplying the club with a regular dose of rhythmic magic and on the other, funnelling the work of some of the strongest local producers through the Morevi outlet. Rarely have two artists sparred so well, but this feedback loop is one that’s apt to furnish some of the smoothest music out there. Palpitating synthwork and stacked tempos that forge ahead into the small hours, from the Horoom floor comes a very special recording. Gently rising, these sounds play with tension, breaks, computer bleeps and distorted samples, maximising a sparse palette with the undeniable skill of two veteran selectors. This is an hour of liquid house, progressive and patient, impeccable rhythms from two forerunners of the Tbilisi scene.
