Making her debut on Biologic Records, complete with a remix from Steffi, here we find the talented Belgian artist strapping up her rocket boosters for a four-track trip into infinity. It takes in influences from dark matter to Detroit, black holes to Brussels.

‘Aurora Space Station’ is a beautiful rave-inspired breakbeat floatation piece that sets the scene, poking fun at the mega-rich who can afford to seriously entertain the idea of leaving this planet for dust. More thrust is added by the deep space electro of Steffi’s thumping remix. Both have more power than all the fossil fuel Bezos and Branson have burnt in the last 10 years.

Deeper into the cosmos we probe…. ‘Neptunian Sea’ takes off from Chicago, fuelled on an intoxicating combo of acid and Italo. ‘Love Bus’ brings the anti-gravity heat with a heavy, hip-writhing nod to the jazz spirit of UR’s Galaxy 2 Galaxy movements.

We might not be able to afford a holiday in space, but we can afford great art like this. The dancefloor has always been the most effective place for teleportation. Ready for take off?

STRX 014 Luca Lozano - Inner Peace EP - Super Rhythm Trax

Zone look to Irish artist and esteemed electro producer DeFeKT aka Matthew Flanagan for their next EP.  
 Over the years this artist has become synonymous with proper techno and electro. His hardware based sound has won him fans all over the world and chief amongst those records is the 2010 mini album he released and which got hammered by legends like Dave Clarke. Working on Combat Recordings, Signal Code and Electronic Explorations amongst others, his rugged drum sounds and modular synth style is textured and real and for that reason always stands out.  
 It is the slick and slippery electro acrobatics of ‘Mental Ease’ that gets us going. With rasping basslines, slapping hits and drums and a lively groove, this one is a restless and relentless jam for the peak of the night. Up next is ‘VHS Romance’ which takes a more introspective path with zoned out pads and a burrowing lead synth line that carries you into the night amongst warm chords.  
 Then comes ‘A Pure Vision’, which is a deep and elastic number with flashes of synths and crisp, cold hits contrasting with each other in alluring ways. The monstrous bass keeps things nice and physical as well as it being emotionally touching. Lastly, ’Plastic Skin’ comes on strong with a manic lead line racing along at a hundred miles an hour. It is constantly changing shape and never lets up, ending the EP in a truly arresting place.

Melbourne's Houses in Motion are a label we've had the pleasure of premiering music from before. Continuing to stay with their ethos of releasing only local, Aussie artists, they have the pleasure of welcoming fellow Melburnian Ryan Berkeley into their family. It's been a little while since HIM's last release but we're happy they're pushing only the best talent that they come across. HIM005 from Ryan Berkeley is a bit of an intergalactic journey that builds up as the record progresses.

Starting off with some lush melodies on the A side in the forms of 'Everything in Moderation' and 'All I Love', we see a subdued and dreamy side of the Australian producer. Floaty cosmic atmospheres and bloops take you straight into outer space. As the A side draws to a close this spaceship picks up some steam with 'Crutches'. Subdued squelchy melodies and arpeggiated riffs are the turning point on the record and there's no going back as the hard-hitting B side looms on the horizon.

B1 'JuKnow?' brings us straight into house territory with a chunky bass, chopped vocal loops and extra-terrestrial bleeps as we approach the blazing heat of the sun on this journey into outer space. Climaxing on the B2 and our premiere today, we feel the full intensity of the record culminate in 'You Dance, You Move'. A vocal sample tells you to do just that as heavy drums and an acid line start to melt your brain. You're fully in alien territory now and there's no turning back.

Shedbug is a good friend of Flux, having produced 3 great tracks on our label's inaugural release and also warmed up for DJ Stingray at one of our parties. As a result it's lovely to be able to host the A1 from his forthcoming release on Salt Mines. We've secured the exclusive of "Pickup Sticks", a track at the intersection of house and techno with an almost ghetto feel to the percussion. Think fast eddy, but without the vocals... Now based in Berlin, Salt Mines is the label run by Rudolf C and Shedbug and is admired for its consistency in turning out heaters one after another.

The A-side of this four-track EP offers two highly effective dancefloor cuts that ride the line between many diverse influences of electronic music ranging from acidic electro to the early roots of techno. The B-side follows up with two deeper, heavily emotive tracks that drift into an uplifting, euphoric and dreamy atmosphere whilst remaining complimentary to the driving rhythms that open the EP.
