Now returning to the label amidst much anticipation, Dmitry presents his latest artist showcase entitled ‘Detektor’, alongside a remix from Orsen.

Comprised of three tracks it’s the peak time sensibility of the title cut which gets the EP underway. Rhythmically charged, it’s chunky low end and percussive cadence unite for a gargantuan swing heavy framework. A storyboard of squelchy synths, dulcet overlays and vocal fragments make for an exhilarating first act. As the break commences the narrative shifts with a tonal top line adding further fuel to the rhythmic fire, before timely modulation and a wave of drum fills sparks a brilliant drop.

Already a favourite of Guy J, the second selection 'Only U' showcases a deeper side of Dmitry's repertoire. Charming atmospheres and emotive shades descend over warm, punchy beats and afro inspired drums. Remarkably fluid, it's emotive appeal grows during the second act, as a poignant lead theme complements the tonal creativities, soothing the senses while advancing the narrative, eventually reaching an elegant finale.

Rounding out the three originals is 'Sacra' which sees the Belarus based artist returning to his pure progressive roots. Dmitry’s penchant for warm, contoured grooves is what makes this such a dance floor gem. Deep, rolling and with a bevy of momentum it anchors the tight rhythmic core and pleasant hooks perfectly. Smooth yet euphoric, vibrant stabs add an epic flair, perfectly foreshadowing a timeless, emotionally rich lead theme which bridges the gap to immaculate elevation.

The lone interpretation of 'Sacra' is provided by Replug artist and label boss Dan Baseley aka Orsen. The UK born, Austria based producer got the summer season underway with his critically acclaimed 'Driftwood' EP. Coming courtesy of Replug, the three track offering showcased Orsen's ever expanding sonic palate, earning praise from all corners of the electronic community, including Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, while once again holding a lofty position in Beatport's Progressive House charts. Now returning to the label for just his second remix this year, Orsen rounds the release out with a free flowing rendition of 'Sacra'. The nine minute journey proves to be a master class in dramatic storyboarding, as acidic pulses and astral aesthetics flood your pleasure centres, eventually uniting in colourful sonic comet. Reaching an apex as the second act unfolds, an airier  take on the lead theme takes you a step closer to the cosmos, before one final rush elevates the piece to an energized yet ethereal finale.

With the 'Detektor' showcase Dmitry has added an important new chapter to his story, one which maintains his main room appeal while forging a deeper blueprint with originality and emotion. An artist in constant evolution, Dmitry once again finds himself at the forefront of the progressive movement.

The original of ‘Venere’ showcases an ongoing development in BOg’s productions, adding a timeless elegant end of night vocal to his repertoire courtesy of magisterial German tastemakers GHEIST. Stirring introverted chords hang in the air, before tasteful broken beats enter and GHEIST’s resplendent vocal immerses you in Venere’s glow. Each lyric shines with emotion as the listener is taken to a captivating break, as synths rain down from above and deep bass pulses add drama. ‘Venere’ is a composition of complete and absolute beauty. Dutch prodigy Budakid returns to Exploited for his third mesmerising EP on the label, with two fresh new opuses for your delectation. 

The End is one of his typically cinematic tracks, reminiscent of 90s melodic breakbeat types Hybrid. Hovering, Reese-toned bass looms subtly over intricate, light broken beats and gently enveloping string progressions. Crisp and spacious, the arrangement is honed to perfection. Muted, gated stabs echo the ghost of 90s trance in the breakdown, fusing beautifully with the breaks when the beat drops back in. Soft cymbal rides splash across the surface as the elements fuse back together for a restrained crescendo. Perfect for the afterhours or a spot of deep meditation.

Linguistic sees Budakid in more of a deep house / melodic techno mood. Subtle synth licks waft across the stereo field as live percussion forms a groove and wildlife sounds create a heady atmosphere deep in the distance. A plodding groovy bassline drives its way into the foreground, while minimialist layers of electronics build the mood. The brain-twisting breakdown makes more great use of noise gating as a dizzying lead soars and pulses. Its a great piece of work that centres more on mood and texture than melody, and in doing so recalls classic progressive house sounds.

| Friends and bandmates since they were 15 there’s a bond between T.M.A (AKA Steven Szpielmann and
Patrick Steppons) that means they have an intuitive understanding of one another. In the studio this has led to
the production of spellbinding collection of music, full of emotional depth and dynamic rhythms. The pair play
live organic instruments, guitars and drums, which they merge with an electronic setup to produce a warm,
human sound. This is evident across all three tracks on their latest EP for Hommage, Aitne.

Kicking off with the title track, we’re immediately confronted with the duo’s instinctive use of melody and
rhythm to cultivate the kind of atmosphere that envelops you from the off. A wistful, impish vocal clips drifts in
and out of the background occasionally, coaxing you into a trance-like state, while the beats keep your body
moving. Tension, drama and simmering emotion make this one a fantastic start to the EP.

Next up is ‘Eirene’, a more punchy cut with razor sharp snares and hats, combined with a dense low end
designed to pump the dance floor full of irresistible energy. The track’s blackened sheen is juxtaposed by the
lively breakdown, which lifts the mood and carries us into the vibrant second half.

Lastly, label owners Monkey Safari step up for a remix of ‘Aitne’. They add a dreamlike atmosphere to the cut,
increasing its emotional appeal. This is one for the lovers out there, who’ll be wrapped in each others’ arms on
the dance floor, as the romantic, thought-provoking melody sends them into the throes of ecstasy. |

Tim Engelhardt's 2020 album 'Idiosynkrasia' felt cinematic in form and orchestral in structure, catalysing deep breaths, reflection and a different way of thinking by way of its genre-bending narrative. Now, some of the long-players most precious and tender moments get reinterpreted by a stellar cast of artists, no doubt with the intimate physicality of dancing bodies in mind. The result is a killer package of three versatile cuts that, while each setting a contrast to their source material, amplify different sides of a feeling Tim's work naturally encapsulated – the flow-state. 

Melodic luminary Rodriguez Jr. reimagines the album's introspective opener 'Attached' as a progressive masterclass of deeply engulfing bass, gently cascading synths and hopeful piano variations, showcasing his one-of-a-kind grasp of subtle euphoria. In andhim's hands, the title-track 'Idiosynkrasia' then gets the b-boy treatment as the duo beef-up the original's breakbeat-driven lowend and flip Tim's idiosyncratic melodies on their head by adding a healthy dose of funk. Last but not least, Sam Shure strips 'Touch the Sky' of its organic feel, expertly rethreading Hannah Noelle's stunning vocals into a pressure-cooker of a club track.
