On burgundy, I wanted to emulate the style and sound of the avant-garde and post-bop legends of Jazz, such as Miles Davis, Sun Ra, Mingus, Dave Brubeck, and Ornette Coleman, while challenging myself to make new sounds and think more creatively. There aren't any traditional beats on here in the popular sense of the word, mostly abstract stuff. Big shout out to the /r/makinghiphop IRC crew for helping me out through the making of the tape, as well as /r/lofihiphop and /r/triphop for inspiring the sounds and ideas of the tape.
