The logical conclusions of John Lennon's "Imagine" was the inspiration for this song but if you like Lennon's song you won't like this song. Just imagine all the implications of a world with "just sky above us" "no religion too", etc.

The God of the Bible says that we are commanded to love Him and love our fellow man. He further says that if we do so we will find happiness. In a world that tells us happiness is found by other means it easy to forget or ignore what the Creator has said, and to end up being unhappy in our pursuit of happiness. Even if you don't love God, you can still find some happiness by living for others - and in doing so, prove for yourself that this principle is true. Living for oneself is empty and vain.

If one hasn't found the meaning of life, and specifically their life, this is a depressing song. But focusing on only today can be lead to ultimate freedom and salvation - if one has a Savior.

Story Behind the Song

I was living outside the US and actually lived in a communist dictatorship. While I wanted to get back home to the US, I was struck with the lack of freedom of speech I would have there compared to the dictatorship I was living under From Political Correctness to laws against someone's contrived definition of "hate speech" or offensive words. A person can cuss and swear but they better not say anything those in high places have deemed off limits. The problem has gotten so much worse since I wrote this song.

I started writing folk music then rock and pop, then some classical and then finally a style which comes natural to me but I have not been able to categorize. Some of the songs I am most proud of are for loved ones and I don't share these publicly. 

I am a Christian and some of my songs clearly reflect that though most don’t easily work in a church setting. You may notice some philosophical arguments in some songs as apologetics has been a big part of my life. I have written many instrumental songs but I’m only including one on this site. The selection here is intended to show the diversity of the music I've written and I hope you find them interesting.
