Not wanting to be categorized is one thing. Trying to categorize yourself but failing is another one. During the almost 5 years of band-history, German quintet JnB still struggles to find a particular classification for their style. What began inside the national jazz-youth orchestra of Rhineland- Palatinate has evolved since then disguised as Fusion-Jazz, and combines the individual influences of each member into a collective personal sound - somewhat between driving 4/4 funk- riffs and the tempting crave to put a lot of notes into strange time-signatures. Modern music which takes a good hard look at its roots as well as on music’s current and following events, without getting easily tied up to some trends.
