i often make these little tests, when getting back into the heart of composing, where i just take one sample and see where it goes naturally – one instance of the sample, stereo delay, stereo reverb, and my fingers on the trackpad...

this was born from one of the corny horn stabs from my old yamaha dj-x , finally found a nice clean copy of the kits the other week.

when testing a set of instruments for a score i sometimes do this practice: improvise a take on each one of them, without hearing any of the others... unmute all tracks, and save that as a little example as an artist does a palettte 🎨 here's testing particular variations of a #mellotron sampleset -- and new possible pseudotape pathway for the softening of sounds on a beautiful upcoming indie game soundtrack
