Years of research and obsession have resulted in this, the ﬁrst collection of recordings by the legendary and masterful Greek folk violinist Alexis Zoumbas. Very few pre-war musicians have tapped deeper into the human soul than Zoumbas and this volume presents his most profoundly hypnotic and unearthly pieces, all recorded in New York City from 1926-1928.  A deep set of notes is accompanied by previously unpublished photographs as well as original art-work by R. Crumb. Respectfully crafted by Christopher King and Susan Archie for Angry Mom Records.

So, yes! my first solo CD, "El fill del llop" is coming! In this moment it is on the way to be printed, so from March 9th we'll have it in physical format, released by French label Buda Musique. It will be distributed in the following countries: France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, UK, USA, Canada, Japan, Finland and Israel.
It was recorded in several studios in Spain, Greece and Israel, featuring a total of fifteen musicians:

The music is driven by solar wind data that was captured by the ACE satellite during the year 2003. The basic vocal ambience layer is created with 6 distinct vocal layers that
correspond to carbon charge state distribution. The value average charge state of Carbon is represented by another set of voices that sing in a higher register. The He/O element ratio is represented by a chord composed of an extremely high frequency set of triangle waveforms. This sound can be described as a glistening. During a CME the reverb quickly swells to a much higher volume before slowly receding back to the baseline level, this creates the feeling of a sudden expanse.  The sawtooth bass-line acts as a grandiose metronome, with each change in pitch marking one half rotation of the sun.

سَلبت لـَيلى مِني العقلَ - فِرقة ابن عَربي

Corría el año 2009 cuando vió la luz el primer trabajo discográfico de L'Ham de foc, titulado 'U'. La gente creía ver en el dibujo de la portada un eclipse, pero en realidad era un ojo de toro fotografiado por Chema  Peñas.

La canción había sido anteriormente grabada con la formación Cendraires de la que Mara Aranda, compositora de las letras y parte de las músicas, fue componente, junto a Néstor Mont y Joansa Maravilla, desde el año 2000 hasta el 2009 aproximadamente. En la grabación del primer trabajo de la formación, de título homónimo, Efrén fue invitado a colaborar siendo éste el gérmen de L'Ham de Foc tras conocerse sus dos líderes indiscutibles.

World Music Network is proud to announce the exclusive release of Beyond The Ragasphere by Debashish Bhattacharya.

Via his ever-thirsting passion for travel and touring, Debashish has jammed with a stellar line-up of international musicians. On this album he is joined by jazz guitarist John McLaughlin and Bluegrass Dobro legend Jerry Douglas. The Spanish guitarist Adam del Monte peppers his flamenco fire over several tracks, and Jeff Sipe, an American jazz-funk drummer, also joins Debashish on his kit. Tabla accompaniment is variously provided by two of Debashish's childhood friends, the eminent players Pandit Bickram Ghosh and Pandit Tanmoy Bose. Bass vamps are delivered by Mainak Nag Chowdhury, aka 'Bumpy', a friend and student of Debashish. Other collaborators include nylon-string guitarist Nishad Pandey, keys player Raja Raj Narayan and flautist Soumya Jyoti. The album also introduces the flawlessly fluid vocals of Debashish's teenage daughter, Anandi Bhattacharya, and features his younger brother Subhasis on percussion. 

Debashish Bhattacharya was born in 1963 in the pulsing city of Kolkata (Calcutta). From his earliest days he was thrust into a musical world, practicing with his talented family and experimenting on his first Hawaiian lap steel guitar from the age of three. Today he still operates out of Kolkata, tours internationally and has a heavy load of awards and accolades under his belt. He has released no fewer than five previous World Music Network albums and earned a Grammy award nomination in 2009 for his album Calcutta Chronicles.

Beyond The Ragasphere also introduces Debashish's daughter Anandi on vocals. In the words of her father, Anandi is a 'born musician', who has long aspired to be a professional musician. While the Kolkata recordings for this album were taking place, she was actually in the midst of taking a run of important school exams. Ever the multitasker, the talented teen still found time to deliver faultless vocals on her father's album and complete the academic assessments. She appears on four tracks in total, including 'Khamaj Tarana', a traditional evening raga sung in an updated, and ferociously fast, contemporary style.

With his cavalcade of thirteen talented musicians, Debashish explores the transformation of raga form in entirely new directions. Beyond The Ragasphere is an album not to be missed.
