After seeing what will happen to him and his peers if they can’t make it back to the Light World, he wakes up in an area completely cast in darkness, and very unlike the rest of the Card Kingdom. With no other choice, he presses on through the dark, beginning his journey...

Rouxls Kaard is the Toriel replacement. He enters through a beam of light of his own, harsh and blinding enough to snuff out the previous illumination. It seems in his impatience with the new king, Rouxls has made a name for himself on the opposite end of the Card Kingdom, and gladly welcomes Barney to traverse it.
