DETOURNEY is an Undertale AU based on and set in an alternate timeline of Escape from the Dark World in which the tournament never continued past WR2.

Lancer begins to have second thoughts about humoring the Lightners, and calls off the tournament. With no hope of them returning to their home worlds, they spread out across the Dark World and find a place to call their own. Barney has a premonition of what will happen if this imbalance between light and dark persists, and brings it upon himself to get the gang back together.

Bessie is the Papyrus replacement. After Barney makes it through the gauntlet of challenges spread throughout the Field, he faces off against The Mighty B herself in one final bout to prove his mastery of her teachings.
