The trail through the jungle was covered with huge leaves and twisted branches that blocked their course. Every time a strange noise sounded they'd flinch or hastily look over their shoulder. All manner of dangerous animals lived in this place. They knew that as soon as the sun disappeared behind the trees that this journey would only become more treacherous. It was a race against time to make it back... 

2019 saw a string of accomplished releases from Berlin-based power couple Local Suicide, making homes on Lumiere Noir, Tusk Wax and Eskimo Recordings. Also known for their collaborations with Curses and Franz Matthews, the duo now join forces with Bavarian producer Kalipo for an EP on Audiolith sub-label Hold Your Ground. Featuring two original tracks, two remixes from Theus Mago - under his own name and his Bufi alias - plus another rework from Saint Petersburg's Radial Gaze, Crocodile/Dominator represents their fresh take on new wave and electronic sounds.

Suicide Disco (Veyl), one of our favorite albums of the last year, now gets a remix treatment from some of the most celebrated names across the industrial, techno and post-punk spectrums. Today we present the Orphx remix of “You Like It When It Hurts”, which takes the original and infuses the Canadian duo’s signature metallic, industrialized sound to create a tension building piece which beautifully catalyzes with Years of Denial’s dark romanticism.  The release also includes remixes from Silent Servant, Alexey Volkov and Broken English Club. Definitely a strong companion to an already smash album.

Honey Badger Records, a Korean underground electronic music label, is releasing their third compilation album 'HBRTRX Vol.3' on March 9th (Monday) 2020.
Honey badger records is an independent music label based in Seoul
electronic underground scene, released it's first EP 'Overly Vivid' by
producer / founder JNS in April 2014. And ever since, they’ve been releasing 16 albums that connect the city with contemporary global electronic dance music culture. Their broad and variety of musical approach expanded the culture scope and showed new paths for electronic music.
The artists of Honey Badger Records are JNS, Sojeso, Two Tone Shape, Mignon, and Closet Yi, Each of them gives a distinctive sound that is ahead of the time through their album. Their original tracks released at the label have already been introduced many times in local clubs and also on media such as BBC Radio 1, NTS Radio, Rinse FM, Worldwide FM in the UK and Red Light Radio in the Netherlands.
The HBRTRX compilation, released every year at the label, is a series
album consisting of 120-130 bpm house and techno music that is more dance floor focused track among a variety of electronic music genres. Special guest producers Acidwork, Go Dam, KONA, Liu Lee and Yetsuby participated as well who haven’t released any track from any label. They’ve been actively interacting with label artists and it’ll be interesting to check their chemistry with Honey Badger Records.
Honey Badger Records started with a label compilation album in 2020, and will release the new musician Closet Yi's label debut album and another EP, which Mignon and Sojeso are working on. They will also continue to showcase new songs and selections by Honey Badger Records label artists at various events and parties.

Arabian Panther story behind the edit: "The only reason I began to make music is Video Games. For me the pioneer of electronic music are not from USA or Germany but Japan, as the creators of most of the synth we use (or idolize) nowadays. Metal Gear Solid is seen for most people as a simple action/infiltration game. It’s a big mistake to reduce Hideo Kojima’s master piece to a simple Holywood movie Metal gear is a pamphlet against war, against nuclear weapon and an ode to nature and Peace. Otacon and Solid Snake are the heroes our world needs today. For this remix, I’ve started from a 20 seconds loop of « Metal Gear Solid II : Sons of liberty’s » Main Menu. Everything around is a creation of my own except some Codec discussion extract from Metal Gear Solid I Codec Briefing, and famous Codec ring, Alarm and Snake’s screaming. Berlin-based musician Chris Imler delivers the next release on Benedikt Frey, Nadia D’Alò and Markus Woernle's R.I.O. label. Marking the fourth release on the imprint, following instalments from the label bosses Nadia and last year's various artists EP, Country Club brings two original hypnotic cuts to the table and two remixes from INIT, the project of Benedikt Frey & Nadia D’Alò, and Nyege Nyege's Debmaster that take the productions into darker realms.

"Chris Imler, who alternates between eternal street boy and dubious
magician, has succeeded in upgrading to a prophet with his third
record. The 12-inch, completed in January and released on May 15th
on vinyl, is exaggeratedly up to date. Though it would never occured
to him in his wildest nightmares while doing it, Chris Imler produced
the soundtrack for the state of emergency. "I measure time in
catastrophes / The scale is open ended / The house collapses, the
city burns / A laser beam leads me to the Country Club" says the
chorus of "Country Club". The music itself sounds like an emergency
from the first second on. Synths like deeply pitched sirens, a beat like
ground troops."
