Blume, emerging from the vibrant tapestry of South America's electronic music scene, has now made Europe her second home. After spending five formative years in Amsterdam, she has chosen Berlin, the pulsating heart of artistic expression, as her latest base.

Establishing her online record store, Format Wars, in 2019, and hosting and curating associated pop-up events, she is a DJ whose deconstructed club-centric sound moves inwards from the peripheries of dance music. With sets that are unlimited and freeform, finding inspiration through the sonic qualities she treasures, Blume embraces a broad dynamic that is as heavy in bass and energetic as it is ghostly, glitchy, and atmospheric.

Adding polyrhythms, broken beats, and jungle influences to a sound that seamlessly transitions between dreamy ambient and experimental jazz, Blume's sets are an adventurous exploration of tempo and texture. A familiar face in clubs like Berghain, Tresor, and OHM in Berlin, as well as at events such as co:clear in Glasgow, ADE in Amsterdam, and the esteemed Positive Education festival in Saint-Étienne, Blume also makes her mark online on NTS, Rinse FM, and Refuge Worldwide. In addition, she hosts a bi-monthly radio show on Noods called The Otherness.

Assuming the role of a fully independent DJ, freelance art director, and record shop proprietor, Blume is first and foremost a student of sound. As Format Wars makes inroads to becoming a physical location in 2024, she is dedicating her studies and research further afield to emerging production technologies, generative tools, and Max for Live devices.

With Blume’s stylistic approach, intrepid sound, and quality aesthetic already allied with an international reputation of labels, radios, and local crews, it’s clear the artist’s creative expression, entrepreneurial instinct, and synergism are poised for the future ahead.

More Womxn In Usb Key est un espace dédié à la valorisation des productions réalisées par des femmes et autre minorités de genres initié par @fatalefurylax.

Pour cette 7ème émission, j'invite @pandouxx, dj et membre de @effort-collectif. Un set d'1h qu'elle a voulu émouvant et immersif. Un début de mélodies nostalgiques qui lui évoquent des souvenirs tendres, pour voguer progressivement vers un univers plus sombre où on s’imagine déambuler parmi les ombres.
Pour la deuxième heure je prend le relai pour une heure de set entre bass, dnb et ambient.

Quite Different does exactly what the title suggests - it veers off the typical DnB path in favour of something looser, moodier, and more stripped-back. The track leans into minimalism, with a skippy drum groove and unusual sound choices that give it a twitchy, leftfield energy 👌🏻

Unlike the more aggressive tone of Jazz Anthem, @oodinidnb pulls things back. The bass is lighter, the drums more playful, and the overall vibe feels like it’s exploring the spaces between the usual hits. There’s a dry tone to the arrangement - like it knows it’s breaking the rules on purpose 👀
