We're very happy to welcome Acidic Male to the series, currently one of our favorite up-and-coming artists. As soon as we heard the raw energy in her contribution to the Shadow Wolf Cyberzine from last December and her self-released track 'Hannya', we were immediately struck. A well-rounded artist with a background as a visual artist and writer, she also started a collaboration in 2019 with RJM Vanderheyden as 'Vot'ress' which seems to have laid the foundation of her love for industrial textures and sounds. Her release embodies this with a killer selection that includes tracks by Memory Clap Acid, Machine Woman, ADMX-71, Baglover, a surprise Black Label Society inclusion and others. Lock in!

It is the duo project of Guni Ca and Blak G, from Chiapas, Mexico. They define their sound as "raw & fat", influenced by EBM, Techno and Industrial music.

The work of the Mexicans producers have been released on labels such as Detriti Records, OSM Tapes, Haunted Space, N.I.M. Tapes, Soil, Pildoras Tapes, Miseria Records, Surface Reality, and upcoming music on Intervision Label, SHISHI and Body Musick.

They also own and founded Astro Bar Chill, a club based in Tuxtla Gutierrez, focused on underground electronic music.

This duo is one of the Mexican projects that are progressively positioning themselves in the music industry worldwide.

The Forgotten CCCII: Red Deviil

Ethan Fawkes is an oldschool rave techno and EBM DJ producer, based in Tilff, Belgium. He’s known for his charismatic presence and combat ready style on stage, comfortably playing anywhere from raves to clubs or shows and festival stages with his signature sound which is a masterclass in unmistakably powerful and personal tracks. His unique vision and tireless work ethic are evidenced by a growing catalogue of original EPs, LPs and remixes for top international labels, winning the respect of his peers, the adoration of fans, and the full attention of DJs and dance floors worldwide.

We are delighted to present the project of Colombian musician Faunes Efe. Filmmaker, since its inception in 2018, has created a monumental discography comprising nearly 50 releases without ever compromising the astounding quality standards of renowned labels such as Opaltapes, Detriti records, Tartarustapes, with numerous vinyl releases and numerous gigs under his belt. His multifaceted production moves through downbeat and noise territories, but has also spawned epic dancefloor killers and - as Filmmaker's most distinctive feature - always dresses the aesthetics of classic electronics with emotional darkwave or violent industrial attire. The rough "straight from the machines" approach can be best experienced in his LIVE sets.

We begin Issue 02 with French label and live duo Minimum Syndicat, who recorded a rare DJ set. Ray caught up with them for a chat earlier this week...


Hey guys thank you for the mix! Being predominantly a live act, does that reflect on how you put a mix like this together?

MS : I think we approached it in the same way, we try to build our live performances : with a narrative, story-telling and quality. It means different styles and moods, more introspective parts vs full-on sonic onslaughts etc. Also we don't fear to lower the intensity level for a while if it serves the story. Which would be riskier in a gig context...

>Is there a contrast in the sounds and atmosphere you aim to create when playing a club gig compared to the larger events like Soenda and Awakenings?

MS : Not really, i think our sound can work in both contexts. Of course we have tracks that have that big arena feel, but we learnt that even small basements can be turned into a rave cathedral with the right sound system, music and people... or maybe your own home during quarantine ?

>We are loving your recent Underground Activities EP, can you give us hint about any other forthcoming releases on your label and any other new minimum syndicat releases or remixes we should look out for? 

MS : Glad you like it ! Actually we were finishing our first full lenght album before this covid-19 shit hit Europe. Now we'll have to wait for better times to give it the proper release it deserves. We have also some remixes and tracks to come on different labels. Schedules are totally messed up now, so we'll see how it comes.
