"Figarus" lidera el EP y le da nombre, un tema creado para la pista de baile con una mística única y buen Groove para bailar de principio a fin pero con un toque intelectual y excepcional como siempre está acostumbrado el gran Fernando Olaya. La armonía te sumerge en un viaje espiritual desde el principio, tan pronto como alcanza el desarrollo y el clímax, se rompe con una melodía única, futurista, moderna y atemporal que hace de esta pieza musical una obra maestra.


"Camaguey" el 2do tema basado en sonidos latinos con Groove y una armonía exótica, el nombre se basó en una ciudad de Cuba que el artista siempre ha querido visitar y como el sello es cubano, le pareció asombroso incluirlo. Tiene un tratado tímbrico específico que vale la pena considerar sobre la pista de baile mundial, con un ritmo muy tribal que te transporta a un viaje en el tiempo donde predominan la jungla y las cavernas, sin duda una pista adelantada a su tiempo.

El 9 de marzo, siete comunidades de la Comarca Andina comenzaron a arder. El fuego se propagó con fuerza y cientos de personas y animales se vieron afectados. Según la información oficial, más de 500 familias perdieron sus hogares debido a la intensidad de los seis focos de incendio en el sur de Argentina, en las provincias patagónicas de Chubut y Río Negro. 

"Grito Del Sur" surge como una propuesta artística colectiva integrada por productores musicales, fotógrafos y artistas digitales, cuya misión es ayudar a las familias y zonas naturales afectadas por los incendios en el sur de Argentina. 

Todo la recaudación se destinará a los fondos de la ONG "Bioreconstruimos", un grupo de bioconstructores voluntarios (contratistas, arquitectos, constructores y otros profesionales) que trabajan incansablemente y ad honorem para reconstruir rápidamente y ayudar a las familias a recuperar sus hogares.

Already a well-established presence on the outlandish fringes of experimental, alternative and dance music, celebrated Israeli duo Red Axes make a surprise left-turn onto Phantasy with a three-track 12”, ‘Sipoor’. Unsurprisingly, the results are as pleasingly out-there as the occasion requires. 

Following on from last year’s self-released LP, ‘The Beach Goths’, ‘Sipoor’ immediately announces the Axes’ uncompromising return to the front and centre of the dancefloor with the raw, provocative ‘Bad Time Story’. Brazen, brash acid triggers this particular tale, as Red Axes briskly modulate their way through a ruff, tuff but never less than musical landscape of 303s and 808s. 

‘Sipoor’ takes a more gradual approach to building offbeat rave tension, featuring an unknown male using his native tongue to request some kind of house, some kind of techno and some sort of release. His wish (and we hope, yours) is the Axes’ command, as the music goes deep before seamlessly unfolds around a throbbing bassline and a playful, familiar keyboard sample, beckoning feet to the dancefloor and perhaps tongues ever so slightly to cheeks. 

Concluding the 12”, ‘Teroof’ takes each of Red Axes’ signature ingredients - deeply rhythmic EBM-inspired drums, spiralling electronics, unapologetically odd vocal distortions - and reconstructs them amid what sounds like the Monaco Grand Prix, as high-velocity motors speed past the soundscape, kicking up some serious dust.

Lobster returns to it's scorched earth roots with a dark, gritty blend of techno-based power traxx from New York staple Heidi Sabertooth.

Tracks scraped from the surface of the NY underground. Proper hardware jams with a raw, scorched edge!

Eyes Are Watching combines punched kicks, squelched synths and pitched-down grunting mosh vox. The mood then lightens a touch for the hypnotic, dusty hardware workout Non Such. Jackin' Chitown vibes peppered with plucked & arp'd synths.

On the flip Makin Cutz is pure can-recorded techno. Overdrive-central in a caged industrial basement. Detuned acid & raw af hammering drum programming. Then for the finishing move, Weeding Through Distortion adds some off-club IDM-tinged sonic flavour to proceedings. Echoes of early Warp (think elements of Autechre live in Wakefield in the early 90's) shot through with some hard US noise processing. A tough, melodic gem.

A very solid carefully crafted 3 tracker is coming from FREE.D. A full of feelings journey with sometimes unexpected vibes and may be more underground than usually FREE.D produces but still with so many interesting details that make you wonder with a power of sound.

FREE.D comments that he just felt like this those days: a bit darker mood with some unsure perspectives and the music was the only way to clear the mind. As we suppose 2 tracks from this Hawkeye EP are the part of future album that he is developing these days. So what really stands out here is "Sequoia Galloping" with its unusual structure and really interesting technique behind the beat. 

"Cowboys After All" is a wired breakbeat track with some wild vocals - a guy is literally chewing a gum - just like we saw in our favourite western movies. And "Solo Trail" surprises with a deep atmosphere and then some high freq sounds are just taking you out from it - great combination. Taking that journey for sure is a step to another mood that you currently have - that's 100%% about Hawkeye EP. The Lift!
