The name Jay Hill (aka Lady Jay) has recently been equated to as New York City’s next Techno/Deep House/Minimal producer/DJ of Ida Engberg and at the same time the girl next door sweetness of American country star, Faith Hill. All comparisons aside, ask anyone in New York City and they will know who Jay Hill is.

Originally from the West Coast as a former Trip-Hop spoken word vocalist & singer/songwriter landed in New York City in 2012, in just three years Jay has already shared the stage with some of the most talented and distinguished artists in the industry such as: Infected Mushroom, Shonky, Dan Ghenacia, Adam Beyer, Ida Engberg, Franck Roger, Butch, Paul Ritch, And Him, Max Cooper, Nadja Lind, Okain, and Michel de Hey to name a few.

As a result of her hard work on the dance floor and in the studio, she is a regular mainstay in some of the worlds most renowned clubs such as Cielo, Output/Panther Room, Verboten, Le Bain, and Best Buy Theatre and several more.

Catching wind outside of NY walls Jay has played for the Noting Hill Carnival in London and summer of 2014 she appeared in Ibiza, Barcelona (off Sonar festival party) and Athens, Greece.

In 2015 her fervent background work in the studio has been paying off with stellar releases/remixes on globally recognized labels such as IRecords (Kevin Yost), Kid Recordings and 3Bridge Records. Her tracks have been remixed by some of the biggest names in the industry Jay Tripwire (Superfreq /Pokerflat), Pezzner (Visionquest) and Alex Dimou (Get Physical).

And speaking of comparisons, we think Jay has already made it to the helm on her own.

"My favorite set that we played this year at Burning Man was at Robot Heart. It was probably the only set that I really prepared for with Walshy Fire.

I'll be honest I was a lil nervous because I really wanted to make it run with energy for the full two hours and our typical audience isn't that used to a classic dub and reggae set. Myself and the whole RH crew wanted to create something really special for a sunset party and keep it true to the theme but to still feel like a Robot Heart set. The Robot Heart crew had told me that they wanted and entire set that sounded like "Major Lazer - Get Free" and I had to think hard about it. To keep the vibe going for two hours and for that record to be the climax was a challenge but I realized if you stick to your guns for the whole party and steer the audience in a direction and keep them with you, then anything is possible.  I hope you love it.. It's perfect for a party on a Sunday afternoon and represents a different side of Major Lazer"

Thyladomid is no stranger to followers of Diynamic. He has stepped up into the international limelight back in 2010, when his single “The Voice” held the pole position on Beatport’s Deep House charts for six consecutive weeks and eventually got him a “Beatport Music Award” in the category “Top Deep House Track of the Year” (based on Beatport sales). Since then Thyladomid has been an inherent part of Diynamic, with regular appearances on international label showcases, its own festivals as well as with multiple successful releases on the label and its sub-imprint 2DIY4, including highly-acclaimed collaborations with Adriatique.

On Thyladomid’s next adventure, which is his debut album ‘Interstellar Destiny’, he takes a different approach with his music: It does not feature the usual club sound you would expect from him. Instead, it mirrors his thoughtful and fragile nature in his songs, making this album as personal as one can be.
“Many things inspired me,” says the man himself on the album, “but first and foremost it was movie scores. So when I was working on a track, I was actually imagining a movie scene that I would be doing the score for. The title ‘Interstellar Destiny’ means something in the way of ‘universal meaning’ or ‘human purpose’. Every track describes a process or a situation of our lives here on planet earth, a beautiful or not so beautiful facet of our existence. The album is very melancholic and describes my musical nature in regard to my perception of my surroundings. I hope I can illustrate that to the listeners.”

He sure can, because the album is absorbing right from the off, thanks to the sombre bass and serene strings of opener ‘Intergalactic Spring.’ From there, the moodiness continues to build through ‘Generation Y’ with its whispered and intimate vocals and slo-mo beats. The colourful and charming ‘Brotherhood’ then gets a little more sun kissed and laid back, ‘Inner Space’ shows how well Thyladomid does deep house and elsewhere cuts like ‘Daddy Rainbow’  marry rich rounded bass with sensitive synths and vulnerable chords.

A special mention goes to two tracks, which instantly stick: On one note the heartfelt ‘Mavericks’. Its sultry singing and the catchy melody definitely sweep listeners away. On the other it’s the feel good anthem ‘The Real Thing‘, which many will remember as one of last year’s Ibiza favourites. It was released as an album teaser EP last summer, including remixes by Stimming and Adriatique, and is still as passionate as it was back then.

Featuring lots of magical vocals and laidback beats, lush chords and crystal sealer production, this album is a real step up for Thyladomid. It is a remarkable example of outstanding forward-thinking electronic (dance) music, something that will catch attention on the dancefloor, but especially a great (loud) home listening piece of music. The album proves Thyladomid’s huge talent and impressively demonstrates that he is much more than just a regular producer of club tracks.

This year I decided to go to Burning Man for only four days as I wanted to see other places before getting there, places which were like the opposite of the dusty Playa.

Those were four really intense days!

All I know is the first time I opened the door of my RV to ride my bike to go say "hello" to the man, I saw a shooting star in the sky...

I knew it was going to be a good year, and so it was!
