The finest curators have an innate understanding & skill to endlessly entertain as well as strongly inform. Knowledgeable & highly adaptive - a risk-taker with a personal voice that asserts itself in all they create. From breaks to techno & everything in between, it is this which juSt b has come to be best noted for.

As an accomplished DJ, radio host, vocalist, producer, published writer, & promo label head, with no shortage of curveballs in her repertoire, she has shared decks with heavyweights like Martin Roth, Cubicolor, John Monkman, Sebastien Leger, Edu Imbernon, Miss Melera, Roy Rosenfeld, Jerome Isma-ae, BLANCAh, & Sasha & Digweed. Also host of a monthly show, Undercurrents, on DIFM, and manager of global community & channel Getting Deeper, she played three European & UK tours in 2019, including host & artist at the world renowned ADE. 

Having released her debut EP in Dec. ’20 on UK imprint Configurations of Self, Feb.4th sees juSt b pair up with a new Hungary-based producer, NorB, for a stunning debut on John Digweed’s iconic Bedrock Records, and has a string of exciting releases slated for the remainder of 2022. With career roots in the hospitality industry as a personal chef & hotel manager, music was a strong force in Hungary-born Norbi Szakács’ life from the time he was a child. He grew up listening primarily to trance then progressive, melodic & deep house and now is also influenced by the UK’s breaks culture. He always had a keen interest in how to transform one’s thoughts and innermost feelings into a musical form for others to appreciate. 

This past year, as many of us sought out new life paths, NorB found the opportunity to explore music production for the first time, for which he discovered an immediate passion. In connecting with established Toronto-based artist & vocalist juSt b, of whom he’s been an avid fan & supporter, the two have come together for an exquisite collaboration in the form of a debut 3-track EP, featuring juSt b’s original vocals.

A new artist to grace the Particles roster, Maximillian David Peter joins the growing ranks of dynamic and talented musicians with his Kerosino production soubriquet and an eponymously titled debut album.

Starting out at an early age as a DJ across his Karlsruhe hometown, the German artist found a connection with the raw emotion and seething dancefloor energy found in intimate club settings as well as the vast open spaces of festivals and raves. Turning this musical prowess behind the decks into technical knowhow and production craftsmanship within the studio, Kerosino has found a way to forge a white-hot steely passion into an unseen bond that connects club-goers with his distinctive and powerful music.

His 9-track "Kerosino" magnum opus is a sumptuous collection of synthesised analogue harmony, meticulous percussive verve and powerful rhythmic force. Opening proceedings, the beautiful arpeggiated layers of "Ayanga" and the interwoven patterns of "Luminga" scud across a club-friendly backdrop in silkily filtered fashion, creating cascading melodic patterns in their path. The Latin percussion and South American vibe of "Flamencano" creates a subtle urgency with its metallic rhythms and glissando synth lines, while a hypnotic melody repeats in effortless fashion.

"Jangul" continues the world-music theme with their African inspired rhythms and captivating toms, while syncopated melodies retain the Afro House vibe. A symbiotic relationship between bassline force and searing lead-line drama is in full evidence throughout "Nadu" and the atmospheric "Samintra", as delayed synth lines shoot across the mid-range in multiple layers while elemental energy courses through a rasping low-end. "Kukui" continues in similar vein as smooth motifs drift across the piece with timeless elegance while bassline presence is in full effect through subterranean swells.

Swirling warm conduits or airy synths drift over the intoxicating rhythms of "Kobayaho" in a deliciously creamy atmosphere before powerful bassline gravitas returns. Closing as it starts, "Raoz" exhibits a glorious array of melodies that coruscate over each other in unencumbered arpeggiated joy. Create a driving vitality atop heavy beat and rapid-fire organic percussion, the result is a rousing and dynamic finale with a subtle retro vibe.

Lighting a path to the future, Kerosino is on fire with his imaginative and vibrant debut album.

In mysterious ways, paths from the past sometimes cross once again, leading to wonderful outcomes. Such is the case here, as we are thrilled to welcome our longtime companion, Maxi aka Kerosino, to our label for his upcoming EP.

His dark, midtempo-leaning sound perfectly suits the gloomy season and had us convinced from the very first listen. The two original tracks are complemented by equally compelling remixes from Air Horse One, Richard Elcox, and Matija.
