Marco Gegenheimer @MLiR and Arnau Obiols @arnauobiols met in 2016 and instantly clicked through their common passion for music and records. After several years of making music, DJing together, many games of table tennis and pool, they decided (during a trip to Costa Brava) to start their own label. So here we are, a year later, with the first release ready for pre-order featuring songs from @axelboman, @pablosanchez and some of their own music as well. 
We’d like to thank @baldo and @subwax-bcn-distribution for helping out and taking care of the distribution during this journey, and Riccardo for designing this exquisite and beautiful artwork. Fantastic warm & crispy mastering by @sasse from Blackhead Studios. This is just the beginning for Taf Kif, as there are already more releases in the pipeline. We’re more than thrilled and hope you will enjoy these songs as much as we do! ❤️

Nocturnal is the first single from the upcoming Basic Need album. Basic Need is the collaborative project of electronic music veterans Alexi Delano and Pablo Sánchez. "Nocturnal", the 10-track album was recorded between Alexi’s studio in Stockholm and Pablo’s studio in Barcelona, with their signature blend of deep techno, immersive soundscapes and jazz improv approach.

With almost three decades in the electronic music scene, Alexi Delano, a driving force in Sweden's electronic music scene, is known for his balance of minimalism, deep house and dark techno. Pablo Sánchez, one of Venezuela's top electronic music exports, has captivated global audiences with his versatile approach to music, combining dancefloor energy with left of field elements.

Together, they continue their artistic partnership under Basic Need, after several EP releases on Los Angeles label Culprit, Hamburg´s Hafendisko and Barcelona's Seven Villas Records among other labels.

They initially collaborated in 2002, in New York City, as Soul Dynamics, a live electronic group including some of the city´s jazz musicians. The leap forward takes place in an electronic key with a refined and classy house style that blends genres to become even more seductive and  enveloping. After debuting in 2019 on Pablo Bolívar's label, Seven Villas, followed by an EP on Culprit and another on Hafendisko, with Ghost Clap EP reaping great reviews, they now introduce a new EP, Between Spaces, with it they take a step further into their sound.
The EP quickly captivates with its title track followed by Side Effect, where they demonstrate their skills with the machines; its eclectic, elegant, powerful and magnetic. It then closes with So Far, a beautiful collaboration with handpan musician Shirin, the song adds a magic touch to a duo that knows how to find subtle feelings and soul where other producers left it be. 
To do something great one must shred conventionalities, this is what Basic Need aims for with Between Spaces, and they do so by selecting the best of the past while toying with the present and propelling themselves into the future.

@alexidelano and @pablosanchez form the @basicneed project. Alexi Delano y Pablo Sánchez forman el proyecto Basic Need. Inicialmente, colaboraron juntos en 2002, en Nueva York, donde formaron un grupo de electrónica en directo junto a algunos músicos de jazz llamado Soul Dynamics. 

Desde entonces hasta ahora el salto hacia delante se produce en clave electrónica con un house depurado y con clase que amalgama otros géneros para ser, si cabe, todavía más seductor y envolvente. Después de debutar en el sello de Pablo Bolívar, Seven Villas, de lanzar otro EP en Culprit con Tides Aising, y Hafendisko, con Ghost Clap, cosechando muy buenas críticas, ahora aterrizan de nuevo con un nuevo EP llamado Between Spaces, y lo hacen dando un paso más allá en su sonido. 

Between Spaces arranca cautivador y bailongo con el track homónimo al título del disco. Le sigue Side Effect, donde nos demuestra las habilidades a las máquinas de este dúo de productores, tan eclécticos, como elegantes, potentes y magnéticos en su sonido. Por último, el EP se cierra con So Far, con la colaboración de Shirin, que le añade un punto de magia a un conjunto que sabe encontrar sutiles sentimientos y alma allá donde otros productores la dejaron. 

Si alguien quiere hacer algo bueno, debe aspirar a triturar los lenguajes ya conocidos eso es algo que intenta plasmar Basic Need en este Btween Space, cogiendo lo mejor del pasado, mientras juega con el presente y se lanzan como unos fieras a por el futuro.
