-How long have you been creating music?

Elternhouse:

We've have been making songs & beats since 2015.
We bought us Cubase and the associated Cubase DVD to see how to use this program.

Dynamike:

for one and a half year

-What do you use to make your tracks?

Elternhouse:

Ableton Live and NI Maschine MK3. Furthermore, we got some digital synthesizer like Serum, Massive, TAL 101, Monark, ... and Plug-Ins from Fab-Filter, Soundtoys & Slate Digital.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?

Elternhouse:

Five years ago, when we listened to the Dirtybird BBQ Compilation, with Shiba San’s Song “Okay” and the great song from Secondcity & Tyler Rowe – “I Enter”.
At this time, there were a lot of shuffle videos on the web with these tracks in the background.

Dynamike:

In 2014 or 15 when I heard the track “Okay” from Shiba San.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?

Elternhouse:

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?

Elternhouse:

enjoyment of life – spread love and fun

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

Elternhouse:

The best concert we’ve ever been to, was the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert, in the year2016. We were waiting for almost seven hours under the sun, the first line, to see the them. It was hard, but the 2 hours show of Red Hot Chili Peppers was awesome.

Dynamike:

Mumford and Sons concert this year.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?

Elternhouse:

We would travel back into the age of the dinosours, but would it be possible, we want to visit the Star Wars universe.

Dynamike:

Back to the 90‘s, to the Loveparade in Berlin.

-What species of bird best describes you and why?

Elternhouse:

Blue-footed boobies, cause these birds are living near the ocean and they are love to dance.

Dynamike:

I think an owl, because the night is my day and sometimes, I seem a bit confused.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?

Elternhouse:

For us, Dirtybird isn’t just a wonderful and creative Tech House Label, it is also a fantastic community with interesting people, great parties and a journey into a unknown culture of art.

Dynamike:

For me, Dirtybird means boundless creativity in electronic music and a community in which everyone can live out as he wants.

More often than not, music acts as a vehicle for emotions, states of mind, or capturing moments in time. Making tangible the intangible, and transporting a brief window into the artist’s mind to a final destination. One that lies squarely with the listener. From there, everything is up for interpretation. 10, 100, a 1000 different people each with their own look through the window. One common theme arising from those myriads of views seems to be an innate desire to find those tracks or songs that evoke a strong emotional response. Tracks that create ‘moments’ for listeners that are inexplicably tied with a setting and transport them back even years later. 

Bearing this in mind, we at Delayed are happy to premiere today, map.ache and his remix of COMA’s ‘A-train’. Much like the smoke that eddies around most of, if not all the Giegling parties, map.ache’s name is closely tied with fondly told stories of those ‘special’ moments. Where people are crying, hugging, overcome with emotion. Moments also coupled with comments like ‘of course it’s map.ache’, that aren’t uncommonly said with a warm smile. As with his past offerings, map.ache gives a bit of a raucous breaky kick to ‘A-train’ and finishes with his signature soaring pads and a melodic crescendo. Certainly, a track to create more of those memorable times for listeners around the globe.

If you enjoyed this track, the rest of the remixes will be out on March 6th, off of City Slang. map.ache’s remix is joined by Lauer, Panthera Krause, Sau Poler, Julian Stetter and Kino Todo to fill out an incredibly solid release.

The harbinger of quality perhaps, or simply that of a flash of brilliance, gone quicker than the blink of an eye. New can be used for many things, however, today’s focus of an oft favorite adjective falls on the shoulders of Melbourne based DJ, and producer, Kia, her label, and a cadre of fellow artists. 

Animalia as a label is new in every sense of the word, and in every sense, the best possible. Much like her mixes, Kia has curated an intricate selection from the thriving Melbourne scene that ticks every box for a burgeoning label. A proverbial shot across the musical bow if you will.

Our shot for today comes in the form of Dashiell & Sam Brickel and ‘Run Out Groove’. Nestled nicely among the other breakish tunes of Animalia 001, ‘Run Out Groove’ provides just as the name implies. Grooves with undulating synths and flashy acid highlights, persisting throughout to provide a top tier atmosphere. We’ll be watching, with ears wide open here at Delayed for what new things come out of Animalia, and we hope you do as well.

'Lucas Buchta and Gary Pilz have been profound producers for a good chunk of the last decade. Throughout the years, their individual forces intertwined into a germafrican vision. Combining Luc's love for a detailed sound and Gary's exceptional sound design, their project "LADS" was born. The German and South African duo has seen their first releases dropped in 2017, including a debut remix on Nie Wieder Schlafen that climbed up various Spotify playlists and marked the start of continuous collaboration between the label and artists. Three years later, the team returns for an ambitious original release, pressed on black gold.

The 5-tracker EP "Bamboo" explores a broad array of sounds, from the orientalic "Cedar", including Gary's own beautiful vocals to the textured "Tin Pan Alley", including a special piano recording from Luc. Ambient atmospheres and funky house vibes with "EDL" and main title track "Bamboo" deliver the front and backend of the release, offering a diverse palette with various energy levels. The digital release includes the exclusive "Eis", which is ironically melting dancefloors with a powerful dance base, fueled with emotive strings and atmospheres. The EP underlines the duo's incredible talent and showcases the potential of their capabilities. A next step for their project, also available on black gold.

"Bamboo" also marks our second Vinyl pressing and we are incredibly excited to be able to deliver another physical release. An enthusiastic next step, that further strengthens the bond between the artists and the label. We couldn't be happier to finally deliver the results, the team has worked on.'

PABLoKEY - KULLA (Yair Remix)

Unconscious by Human Space Machine is a great exercise in the subtle art of tension and release.  The track is very deliberate at slowly building up various sonic elements and letting the synth lines open and blossom.  Did I mention slowly? The track does stay true to its name and provides one with the feeling of slowly coming back to life from some sort of metaphoric slumber; starting muted and muffled and then gently "awaking" the senses one by one.  Did I mention slowly?

"Unconscious" by Human Space Machine is a part of the new "The Meaning of Time - Part II" compilation that is coming out on September 25th via On Board Music.

San Francisco-based Manjumasi welcomes back Vridian, a rising star from the Indian underground electronic music scene, for his sophomore release on the label, 'Strange Statistics' EP.
The release features two originals and two remixes by Gacha Bakradze and Tim Engelhardt. Gacha Bakradze, a mainstay from the vibrant Georgian underground music scene and our usual suspect here at Delayed, gives a nice twist to the title track and brings back all the feels with early '00 breakbeat nostalgia. 
Gacha's remix of 'Strange Statistics' brilliantly showcases a blend of classic UK breakbeat groove and melodic sensibility that will, for sure, create those special moments on the dance floor.
'Strange Statistics' EP is coming out on November 30th via Manjumasi.
