It's a collection of tracks, some of which have already been buzzing around the balearic / downtempo scene for a while now. The Album includes the infectious ‘Hey Moloko’ which was picked up by Hot Chip for their splendid Late Night Tales compilation, and the gamers amongst you may have noticed it in the most recent Playstation – Gran Turismo 7 soundtrack. Outro track ‘Bye Moloko’ is a brand new Re-edit of this classic.

The music of Mike Salta aka Gert Nygaard flaunts an eclectic palette, collecting strands from New Orleans funk, 80’s italo disco or Brazilian tropicalia and transforming them into rich and sun-drenched dance music.

The album is produced in collaboration with long-time studio partner Mortale, and is a sumptuous piece of chillout to call on the summer. A full-bodied groove of an album to transport you and soundtrack those sunny days & balmy evenings. Moloko Island concludes a voyage and reconcile an era where electronics and acoustics have been explored and united in the unique sound and vibe Mike Salta and Mortale has strived to unfold…

After a “Fresh” season of magical dances, festival celebrations and cozy open airs, the we-küyen family is ready to excite your ears with delicious sounds. Directing the music journey is “Morgen” an old friend of the we küyen family, known for his extended narrative dj sets, containing the finest funk selecta and bouncey beats. Often seen as part of one of the grooviest dj bands of the last years in the Berlin scene “Sonne Mond & Mango”. “Morgen” makes his appearance on our family imprint, in the glorious beginning moment of his career. Releasing his first material as a solo artist in our family label makes us feel so incredibly honored and grateful.

The track itself will inspire you to reveal your sexiest dance moves, “Those you practice when you are alone, in front of the mirror and nobody is watching...” Do expect thick textures, and insisting solidness in all that surrounds the engineering of this track, is so fat and groovie...chocolate for our brains.

Following on the remixes, we are presenting you two essential forces of our family: Lafken, who happened to make his debut as DJ in our ‘’Fresh Sunday’’ and now makes his debut as producer…’’What a Bliss”!

Taking inspiration from his surroundings deep in the Tulum jungle, medicine man LUM takes us on an otherworldly trip, delivering a truly stunning EP for Crosstown sub-label Rebellion, featuring a remix from American duo Bedouin.
 
“The ceremony starts in the jungle,’ explains LUM of the EP’s journey, ‘‘Urpillay’ calls the spirits and asks permission for the celebration. It’s warm, deep strings and pianos lead us to connect with the inner self and mother earth. Bedouin brings the jungle to the dance floor with a powerful remix’. LUM goes on to say, ‘the trumpets, percussion and the angelic voice in ‘Plegaria’ are to say thanks. ’Baaxal’ is a reinterpretation of Mayan music, the spirit of the jungle present. 90 bpm, hypnotic, and 741 hz to awaken intuition. Unsere Nummer 25 hat der sehr begabte Wiener, leschueft für uns zusammen gestellt. Wir kennen und schätzen ihn jetzt schon, seit fast einem Jahr, als er uns mit einem seiner ersten Sets auf Soundcloud sehr begeistern konnte. Seine ruhigen, stimmigen und herzvollen Arbeiten zeigt er mittlerweile in den bekanntesten Podcastserien wie u.a. bei Room84, Electronic Groove, Deepist, Sunset Grooves... Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass er sich dieses mal für uns die Zeit für genommen hat.

Wie und wann bist du zur elektronischen Musik gekommen?

Mit 16 Jahren bin ich von französischem HipHop zum franz. House (Étienne de Crecy, Superfunk, Daft Punk,...) gerutscht. Lange Zeit war ich dann auf Drum’n’Bass eingestellt, bis ich vor 9 Jahren auf Minimal gestoßen bin. Von da an ging die Reise über Deep House und Techno, bis ich im Hier und Jetzt bei Downtempo gelandet bin. Big Love!

Welche musikalischen Momente sind dir besonders in Erinnerung geblieben?

Besonders in Erinneurng geblieben sind mir genau drei Momente: Flex, Fusion und Heimlich! Im damals noch sehr vom Underground geprägten Flex habe ich Dj Bailey und MC Tali (Drum'n'Bass vom allerfeinsten) live erlebt. Mein Fusion-Erlebnis 2014 ist in einem Wort zusammen zu fassen: Unglaublich! Ende August diesen Jahres habe ich als Teil des Heimlich-Kollektivs einen wunderschönen Wald-Rave organisiert, den ich so schnell nicht vergessen werde.

Wo konnte man dich bisher antreffen?

Bisher war ich ein „Wohnzimmer-DJ“ und habe durch Podcasts auf Soundcloud kommuniziert. Zwei Mal habe ich fern meiner Zielgruppe bei einer Hochzeit und einer Vernissage aufgelegt und zwei Mal habe ich bis jetzt auch schon für die Downtempo-Crowd aufgelegt.  Das Feedback war enorm und hat mich in meinem Tun bestärkt.

Gibt es Zukunftspläne?

Oh ja, und wie! Ich bin seit kurzem bei dem Downtempo-Kollektiv Heimlich (@Heimlichaufsc) dabei, aber wir haben jetzt schon Großes vor. Im Moment sind wir voller Tatendrang in Wien Downtempo-technisch etwas voran zu bringen. Martha van Straaten kommt im September, Stiglitz & Bernstein kommen Anfang Oktober und Caleesi kommt Mitte Oktober. Bei letzterem Event bin ich Support Act. Irgendwann wollen wir auch in Berlin spielen.

Hot off the press comes a brand-new label from veteran of the scene Stefano Ritteri, showcasing his trademark love for obscure samples and synthesiser exploration. 
The title track is a sumptuous amalgamation of analogue synths, far-reaching, left-leaning samples and crisp-as-you-like drum programming. It’s weird and wonderful, enticing you deeper and deeper with every added element. From the wonky glitches, to the fuzzed out, Middle Eastern guitar and exotic vocals refrain. 
Take to the B side and you’re hit with a rhythmic workout combining modular electronics, sci-fi infused samples and intergalactic synth work. Rounding off the EP ‘It Isn’t About That’ is a downtempo beatsy number, laced with dubbed out effects and an introspective monologue about the merits of music as a medium of expression.
