We are more than happy to welcome the German DJ and producer Lexer to Oddity, with his “Focus” EP making his debut on the label, accompanied by a remix from fellow native Jonas Saalbach

Known for his ability to story-tell with his melodic productions, Lexer opens the EP with the track “Focus”. A track with a lot of groove and emotion that combines the best of both worlds, giving us a melodic piece full of energy, catchy chords and melodies

On the remix duties, Jonas Saalbach, reworks “Focus” with a more aggressive and haunting touch. Adding new textures, drums and synths that play along with the original parts, making an alternative mix for the late hours of the night

“The Sky Is Red” follows on the EP, a beautiful interplay of melodies and textures that follow each other throughout the slowly building track. Arp and synths play along to keep the interest and intensity growing on this melodic cut

Last but not least, “Suffer” the deeper cut of the pack, drives us slowly with his groove and textures to the main hook of the track. When we get to the drop, all the emotions comes together with a heavy bass, and triad metallic synths, playing along a continuous arp and percussion, that creates the perfect weapon for the dance floor

The latest release from Movement Limited welcomes Not Demure to the label for his debut EP. Born in Argentina and now based in Spain, Not Demure first emerged in 2017 with releases courtesy of Hitclub and TOTUM Music. Gaining momentum and fans quickly, the Mar del Plata native went on to showcase his music via LAIKA Sounds, Magician On Duty and Univack. Also finding a home on Movement Recordings, Not Demure's contribution to the label's 'ProgNoesis' Vol. 1 collection went on to be played by Guy J and still sits at the top of his Beatport best sellers almost a year later. Now stepping up to label affiliate Movement Limited for his first appearance, Not Demure presents his much anticipated 'New Resilience' EP.

Beginning with the title selection, Not Demure continues to explore the organic side of his studio repertoire with great success. From warm, rhythmic beginnings comes redolent themes and exotic percussive arrangements. It's an amalgamation of trippy sonics and free flowing organics which proves most captivating, touching the listener with moments of hope and reflection, as a bed of dulcet beats and thumping bass stabs translates that message to the dance floor. Gentle melodic fragments and wispy atmospheres emerge into the break, where a wonky musical theme takes centrestage. Striking in execution and perfectly setting in motion a timely drop and dreamy finale.

The two-track showcase concludes with the alluring sounds of the title selection 'Are You In'. Possessing an appealing undercurrent, it's dulcet beats and wavy synth phrasing creates a warm glow from the outset. Pensive atmospheres and hazy harmonics add further to that narrative, as sheets of dusty percussion and meandering effects push forward to an amorous conclusion. It rounds out two inspired tracks from Not Demure, who makes his Movement Limited debut in fine style.

There Is A Light – the brand new imprint from LA-based DJ, producer and label head Arash Homampour (a.k.a The Archer) – will officially launch on January 29 2021, with the eagerly-anticipated release of The Archer’s debut EP, "Lonely Dream."

Established as a platform to champion some of the brightest international talents in electronic music – as well as being a home for his own prolific stream of productions – Homampour’s wide-reaching musical knowledge, spanning everything from Deep House, New Wave, Disco and Techno, will lie at the heart of everything the label represents, as he looks to deliver a consistent run of diverse and quality output over the course of 2021 and beyond.

Kick-starting the inaugural player with the emphatic title track Lonely Dream, The Archer makes his intentions known from the off as he combines rhythmic tribal percussion and a haunting vocal hook with spine-shaking basslines and impressive production values across both the Radio edit and the Extended mix, to deliver a truly impressive debut outing on TIAL. 

The middle order sees The Archer flex his A&R muscles for the first time on the nascent label, as he enlists French maestro Matt Sassari to put his unique spin on the resounding opener. A pioneer of the new wave of techno that’s been sweeping across France over the past few years, Sassari’s minimalist, yet hard-hitting interpretation explores a more underground timbre than the original, as the Marseille-born talent further builds on an already stellar career discography. 

Last but by no means least, TIAL welcomes critically-acclaimed Japanese production duo Drunken Kong to take care of closing duties, with another juggernaut remix of Lonely Dream. With a wealth of releases on the likes of Tronic Music, Octopus Recordings, Stil Vor Talent, Terminal M and Natural Viva (to name but a few) over the course of 2020, the in-form duo look to kickstart the New Year in fine fashion as they amalgamate techy basslines, frenetic drum patterns and huge crescendos in perfect accord, to conclude an incredible debut EP on There Is A Light.

Speaking about the launch of the label and this first release, The Archer commented:

"Music is transformational in its ability to instantly transport you from sadness to joy and everything in between. I wanted to establish There Is A Light Records to explore that journey of 'the in-between’. Lonely Dream is just the first destination, with three distinct floors."
