New York-based DJ and producer Öona Dahl is an emerging talent in the world of deep house with releases on All Day I Dream and Hallucienda. With an open mind to music helped by her broad knowledge of genres, her output takes listeners to an ethereal level. Taking her music to extreme limits with extended mixes, isochronic melodies, Dahl’s incredible skill behind the decks is hard to replicate. Her production skills are also to be envied, having graduated from The International Academy of Design and Technology for Digital Media and Recording Arts she has a skillset difficult to match. Favouring deep house her sets can still veer toward techno and experimental electronica, showcasing an affinity for diverse styles of dance music. Working either solo or as part of Slumber (which sees her team up with Amber Cox) her skill is showcased with a perfect balance."

'8Kays returns to Booka Shade’s Blaufield Music imprint to deliver her second EP on the label, ‘Rolling’.

Kiev-based DJ and producer Iryna Shvydka, aka 8Kays, has emerged to become a key rising name of note over the past two years, with releases via the likes of Sincopat, Disco Halal, Eleatics and her own 8Music imprint, whilst also featuring as a regular member of the Blaufield Music family. Having recently returned to the label to remix label founders Booka Shade and Eli & Fur’s ‘To The Sea’, and following on from her stand out releases on the label in 2019 which gained support from the likes of Joris Voorn, Above & Beyond and more, mid-July welcomes the arrival of her latest EP ‘Rolling’, featuring close friend and regular collaborator Diana Miro.

Title cut ‘Rolling’ opens the package and introduces scintillating leads atop of blossoming bass patterns and refined percussion shots, whilst ‘Berlin’, named following 8Kays’ appearance at the Blaufield label night in the city, welcomes darker, more menacing approach which is soon contrasted by escalating synths and bright tones. To close, ‘Waiting In The Dark’ combines warped electronics, resonant keys and sweeping strings throughout, whilst Diana Miro’s emotive and hypnotic vocals add take the production to new heights.'

That’s how Olivia describes herself as a DJ. Always discovering new artists and bringing the crowd something fresh, Olivia is not afraid to go too deep in her musical selections. After all, it is music that is her therapy.  

Having grown up in a musical family, surrounded by pianists, vocalists, guitarists and a wide variety of albums from which to listen; she discovered her love of music was more than just a hobby, it was her life! She played drums and guitar for many years although quickly realized her greatest thrill was being behind the decks. 

Olivia was exposed to an eclectic combination of music growing up in her small Pennsylvania town on Lake Erie. Disco, funk, rock, synth-infused 80’s music, techno, house and hip-hop are some of her favorites, and have left her with quite a broad spectrum of musical influences. Today, this translates into sets where she picks apart and infuses pieces of the music she loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding bass lines, and catchy vocal hooks… all on top of driving house or techno beats. 

Olivia has been DJing since 2015, and hosting monthly house parties since 2018. She is an active member of her local music community and hopes to collaborate with other artists in her surrounding area. She plans to attend Garnish Music Production School in Brooklyn, NY (as soon as covid lets up)and in the meantime is enjoying herself and her time to work on what she loves best...music!
