it's been an eventful few years. i graduated from San Diego State University, endured some extremely difficult times, and finally made it to the Bay Area, where i work at a legal non-profit in San Francisco. i finished this remix in august of 2015 but for various reasons, it got left behind in the depths of my laptop. i realized that i had been holding on to a lot of my anxious self-doubts about it being not good enough. as someone who is totally self-taught in terms of electronic music, i have those feels a lot. yesterday, i rediscovered this remix, did some polishing up of the mix, and fell in love. the funny thing is that issues of bravery and self-doubt are really central to the original song itself. this remix marks my continual self-transformation, and a refusal to let myself be my own enemy.

I just needed space from everything to figure out my life. I go to my best friends memorial site to vent my feelings and dreams to them. I find myself with a new direction with music and I noticed I was being something I'm not. I'm living a lie with my music. Everything is real but I see no fulfillment in my music from the past. I find my self taking the biggest exhale of life and just letting it all go. Leaving the past behind, never looking back at it anymore. I want to move on."

"As for the X not being there it's because X is a form of marking your territory. It's a strayed letter in the alphabet. X is an unknowing letter that needs no introduction.
