After releasing her album ‘Dearestly’ in 2016 with a 50 date Canadian tour, west coast songstress Lauren Mann took a few years off the road to find her muse again, soaking up the inspiration of her Gulf Island home and devoting her time to writing. In the process she became quite involved in her local arts community, leading songwriting workshops, collaborating with other musicians, and helping to launch arts programming in visual arts, filmmaking, music and dance through a local arts organization. This creative diversification continued to inspire Lauren’s own artistic pursuit, giving breadth to her already varied musical abilities. She has explored new directions while maintaining the authenticity that has attracted listeners to her sound since the beginning in 2009.

Late 2018 marked the release of ‘Innocence’ – Lauren's first single since the album ‘Dearestly’ – and an accompanying music video. The song itself is a harkening back to simplicity, remembering and reclaiming the past in order to move forward in a new way; a striking parallel to her own personal journey of the past few years.

With three albums and hundreds of shows already under her belt, Lauren is taking her new energy and a fresh collection of songs into the studio to begin working on her fourth album with producer and collaborator Josh Rob Gwilliam. Marked by a maturity that carries deeper honesty, tangible vulnerability, and a renewed effervescence, she’s taking herself and her music back to her roots: finding connection and common ground through creating authentic art.

Matthew Tran-Adams is a Toronto-based composer and a Lecturer at OISE/University of Toronto. His interest in world music and folk songs have generated a variety of unique works which feature and integrate various cultures. His works have been performed by groups such as the Carson City Symphony (Nevada, USA), The Brampton Symphony (Brampton, Canada), The Brock University Chorale (St. Catharines, Canada), The Orchid Ensemble (Vancouver, Canada) and The Vancouver Chinese Choir Association. Matthew is an Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Centre.

Born in Niagara Falls, Matthew has worked extensively as a composer, performer, educator, historian, writer, and editor. His work experience is varied in that he has been a university instructor, head of an integrated arts department at Parkdale Collegiate Institute, curriculum writer, church music director, piano accompanist, flautist, harpist, rock and Celtic musician, and lounge pianist. Matthew has written for the journal, The Canadian Music Educator where he explores the topic of equity and social justice in music education. His other passion is Canadian history and he often uses historical events as inspiration for his work. His work Gold Mountain Elegy, performed by performed and recorded by both the Vancouver Chinese Choir Association and the Brock University Chorale is dedicated to Chinese-Canadians who risked and lost their lives building the railroad across Canada.

In 2014 Matthew won the Royal Conservatory of Music’s 21C: 21st Premiere Contest for his work to-BEI-ron-JING-to/多—北—伦—京—多 REMIX I. In 2005 Matthew was runner up in the Foundation Orchestra Association's International Composition Competition with his work The Refugee Child which is dedicated to the Vietnamese Boat people who risked their lives to escape Vietnam. This piece incorporates a children's folk song Ly Ngua O (The Black Horse) to depict a child's journey from the security and familiarity of home to an unknown and possibly dangerous future.

Matthew also works as a freelance musician specializing in Celtic/electric harp, piano, flute and voice.

elkke (formerly the Emy Reynolds Band) was born from a unique vision shared by Ojai natives Emy Reynolds and Piper Denney in 2007.  Since then the band has self-released three EP’s and has had their songs featured on popular television shows like Grey’s Anatomy as well as a number of national commercials.  While zig-zagging across the nation and performing locally in southern California they’ve had the opportunity to share the stage with many established artists including Haim, Lissie, Brett Dennen and Chris Pureka.  With the addition of Andy Alseri on keys and a solid line-up forming, the band entered the studio and completed work on their debut album.  With a summer 2018 release set, look for elkke to take their harmony-laden, orchestral folk sounds out of the forest and to a town near you.

I'm an explorer of life and data.  This applies to my work and my love for travel.  I also enjoy capturing public sounds as it really gives you a sense of the life.  Aside from that, I am a novice guitar player so I'm constantly trying to improve on my attempts at playing various songs (or parts of songs).

Her self-produced 2022 album After All delves into personal themes of pregnancy, loss, and motherhood, reflecting her mission to empower women in music production. Lightman continues to champion female creatives through initiatives like She is the Music, as she works on her next album, set for release in 2026.
