Traditional Irish dance tune, crosspicked by Lois Hornbostel on mountain dulcimer from her CD "Dulcimer Enchantment." Tuning DGD, key of G. Janet Furman plays fiddle. Also known as "The Spanish Cloak," this tune, together with its fandango-like melody, indicates that it might be a remnant of the days when the Spanish Armada occupied Ireland's West Coast.

From Lois: The mountain dulcimer can have a silky tone and mellowness that first made me love it.  Here’s a medley that uses that voice, from my “Dulcimer Enchantment” CD,  "Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes” was a popular melody before English playwright Ben Johnson wrote its words (called ’To Celia’) in 1616 .  The latter tune, “Give Me Your Hand," was composed around 1603 by blind Derry, Ireland harpist Ruaidri Dáll Ó Catháin. He wrote it as a gesture of reconciliation for the Scottish Lady Ellington.
