My "acoustic" version of the recent masterpiece by K37, "Learn to Listen" featuring the amazing vocals of Cory Friesenhan. The acoustic set up felt just perfect for this composition and I decided to give it a try. It's not 100% acoustic, you can find some electronic fx there (I wouldn't be Eidos without them), but overall feeling is chilled, relaxed and solemn. Some of the drive of the original is, hopefully, preserved, too.

Graham Dunn | Guest DJ Series

Deersky’s Soundteller Records welcomes David Leckenby back to the label for his debut EP. The Australian artist fist appeared on the Polish imprint in October of last year with a contribution to the label’s ADE Sampler. His multi-layered infusion of deep, melodic and progressive sounds has also found a home on Droid9, Proton’s Particles and PHW Elements. Now following the release of his well received ‘Bubble Boy’ EP, David returns to Soundteller with ‘Coalesce’.

Spread across three tracks it’s the reflective moods of the title selection which leads the release off. Punchy beats and rolling bass unite for a powerful low end, while airy atmospheres and playful melodic fragments add nicely to it’s emotive nature. Smooth and meditative, cascading lines continue to elevate mood across the first act, taking the narrative into a tranquil break and ultimately sealing it’s nostalgic feel.

‘Outside In’ follows suit with it’s effervescent grooves and hopeful motifs. Fluid rhythms carry the rolling foundation while detailed percussion and wispy effects sweep across the stereo field. Once again reflective in nature, it’s impassioned vibe grows subtly as a well-crafted break brings a quiet yet heavenly calm, before resetting the groove for a purring finale.

The release concludes with ‘Sky Higher’ which follows a similar sonic profile but with a slight rise in tempo. Dreamy and poignant in equal measure; it’s spiralling arps, creamy chord stabs and ghostly vocal wails converge for a storyboard of melody and colour, making for a stirring seven minute journey to round out the EP on strong note. There’s a definite old school Anjunadeep or Silk vibe to all these, it’s a timeless sound which is always going to sound great, just as it does here. Highly recommended.

Founded in 2020 Future Avenue is an electronic music imprint which operates under the Sound Avenue umbrella. Sitting alongside fellow subdivisions 3rd Avenue and Crossfade Sounds, Future Avenue looks to provide a home for new and rising talent. With an ethos centred around progressive music and its surrounding derivatives, the label is a platform which gives up and coming artists a chance to showcase their music alongside established veterans as they carve out their own musical identity.

The 22nd release welcomes Callecat from the Netherlands to the label. Callecat is the musical fusion between two Dutch guys who share their passion for music and cats. They have both been DJing separately and together they have more than 25 years of international DJ experience in various genres. In 2017, the duo started collaborating for some studio work, which resulted in good music and lots of fun. As they share a passion for progressive deep house, they strive to bring you a warm and melodic sound.

A new week is here and that means brand new music coming up through PHW Elements and this week we bring on a brand new artist to our ever growing family of the label. Hailing from Cordoba, Argentina, a young and aspiring producer from the progressive country now starts to make steps though the scene as ZAHNA makes his debut on the label. 

With a majestic original, named as “Neuson” he showcases that he is more than ready to make echoes and steps in the genre of progressive house. With hypnotic grooves and etching melodic arrangements, he is in with a winner, no doubts on that. We hope you want to support an aspiring producer that really wants to make a name for himself through his music. 

On remix duty, we welcome back another producer from the “land of progressive” as Nicolas Benedetti returns to the label once more. With his fresh sound design, he’s been making waves on the scene lately and this is another refreshing production from him. Keeping the melody driven vibe but adding on deeper textures and more sounds to make this a real floorfiller. We are always thrilled to place his musical skills on PHW Elements and this is by far one of his stronger productions, we absolutely love it. 

Also making his way back to the label, India based producer Tapasya delivers another stunner from his studio. With a slightly more stripped down remake, still with a good load of energy and drive, he surely strikes with full force once more. Don’t miss out on all the cool effects and tight percussion work added on to his journey, super cool and energy packed to work its way in any “decent” set being played.

Coming from Hungary, Geo Dusnoki aka GÆO is a Copenhagen based producer and DJ. Their interest in music grew from a young age and after composing ambient music and playing in a post-rock band throughout their teenage years and early 20s, in 2018 Geo took a big step towards their dream of producing when getting admitted to The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ever since studying at the Tonmeister (sound engineering and music production) department, working with many different genres including classical, jazz, world music recordings and their own productions of electro-acoustic music.
Their musical style slowly developed towards the path of electronica and deep house while keeping the ambient, melodic and emotional atmosphere that has always marked their music. Their love for DJ-ing has emerged simultaneously and now their mixes include a wide variety of melodic techno, organic house and downtempo.
Touch, Grip, Release is an emotional journey, portrayed by hand-movements symbolizing three different stages of a human connection. Touch – the meeting, Grip – the attachment, Release – letting go.
Intimate piano and atmospheric strings carried by pulsating synths and driving beats to create a unique constellation of emotive electronic music.
