1940 - 1991
Eileen Donlon (Eileen Dolan) was born in Dublin and studied at Royal Irish Academy of Music. At festivals throughout Ireland and England, she won many major awards, including the Gervase Elwes and Dramatic Cups at the Dublin Feis Ceoil. 
Eileen started her singing studies with Michael O'Higgin's, and Dorothy Stokes and later with Martin Isepp. She attended the Summer Academy in Salzberg as a pupil of Frau Paula Lindberg of Amsterdam and was chosen from among those taking part to sing in the final concert in the Mozarteum. She went to the 's-Hertogenbosch Muusikstad in Holland and studied Oratorio and Lieder under Herman Schey.
In 1964 she was a pupil of Mrs. Carys Denton in Belfast, and sang many works in Northern Ireland including Handel's Messiah and Bach's St. Matthew Passion. She frequently broadcast on the B.B.C. Northern Ireland program "Music Room" with her accompanist Dr. Havelock Nelson.
