Warm summer light diffuses over undulating landscapes; green fields whisper their secrets through breeze-swept grass, rising in falling in hypnotic beauty. An unprecedented collection of aural soundscapes passes through the hallowed walls of Mango Alley. Two halves of a symbiotic whole come together in perfect unison. 

Seventeen masterpieces bristle with atmosphere, coastal sounds wrapped up in electronic meanderings. A piano glistens in shimmering fashion akin to water droplets formed from sea spray mist and acoustic guitar soothes and cools in campfire moments. The distant sound of thunder against monochromatic skies found in idiosyncratic beat. Arpeggios dance on dazzling sunlight, heat mirages disappear in the blink of an eye, and summer's blissful presence nourishes the soul once more in fleeting majesty.

The pair have loaded 'Volta' will low-end rumbles, scattered, jittery percussion and most importantly, drops that hammer home the tech-house pace. It's a track fit for the terraces and a great start to the year for both.

"Starting a set on the Robot Heart bus, in motion, in the middle of the desert, was certainly the least expected and most unparalleled moment I have experienced as a DJ. Watching the burners follow us on their lit up bikes, dust swirling all around, with the majestic Black Rock City as a backdrop completely blew me away.

I still get goosebumps all over, when thinking about it.

There truly is no place like Burning Man, a HOME for people who breathe LOVE.

I hope the mix will somehow convey the feel of my magical  & ever inspiring experience out there.

Adam Beyer’s Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno’s number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary. 

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional. 

Led by the stealth techno funk of ‘Nine of You’, Beyer’s deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck. 

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O’Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016. 

Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

German duo Obscure Shape & SHDW drop three robust Techno tracks in their first full release on Rekids this May.

One of the most exciting acts in Techno today, Obscure Shape & SHDW are the founders of From Another Mind - the label and party series making waves in South-Germany. Aside from Rekids, where they remixed Radio Slave’s ‘Vision’ last year, the pair’s abilities in the studio have seen them invited by Slam for two separate remixes of Monoloc and Envoy on Soma, with more projects to be announced.

‘Himmel Und Erde’ is a cavernous cut boasting colossal kicks and skipping percussion before a tantalising melody comes into play. ‘Am Ende Der Welt’ is more deep and atmospheric in comparison, blending dusky percussion with echoing synths until ‘Gefallene Engel’ demonstrates syncopated drums and an otherworldly hook that conjure up a mesmerising aesthetic to conclude the release.

Ukrainian duo Woo York deliver a powerful, driving, dark-yet-sophisticated sound on their upcoming ‘Chasing The Dream’ LP, set to drop on May 4 as the first artist album on Afterlife.

Steyoyoke’s own Quadrivium series reaches it’s second edition; introducing an impressive showcase of talents from a squad of ascending names, brought together to fulfil an astonishing V.A. pack that will surely be recognized as a definite must-have. 

Opening the works comes Lost Soul, who delivers “Falling”, bringing a striking mechanic rhythm with the perfect seasoning of organic elements like a distant piano melody identified all across the song. A strong cut to get you in the mood for the journey.

Next up is “Glint” from Simon Prod. A hypnotic arrangement of kind beats and highly-skilled synth work with chaotic displaying of elements and frequency distortions.

Amentia's Cheyenne is a funky pieces of psychedelic South America influenced deep house, soon out on DJ Sabo's Sol Selectas summer sampler. 

Sol Selectas is a US label headed up by Sabo whose ethos of spiritual wellbeing and cultural diversity runs through the very foundation of the imprints music policy.

Focused towards house music, often with melodic elements and rich percussive textures, the label has a strong sense of community and has featured contributions from the likes of Blond:ish, UNER, Acid Pauli and Nicola Cruz plus many others.

Each year Sol Selectas releases its mammoth Summer Sol compilation on the day of the summer solstice, which according to astronomy, is the year’s longest day of sunshine. The 2018 Summer Sol compilation is the third in the series, and there is already big expectations with the first two having both charted as top selling releases on Beatport.

Featuring on Summer Sol III is new music from Sabo himself along with tracks by Sol Selectas regulars such as Armen Miran, Canson, and Amentia, plus artists like Fatoumata and Ali Kuru, who are both making their debut on the label.

Outside of Sol Selectas the artists included on this various artist compilation have featured on more labels than it’s possible to mention, but many of the artists have featured imprints like KATERMUKKE, Chapter 24 Records, Bar 25 Music, Crosstown Rebels and Parquet Recordings.

Each of the tracks are a short musical tale that makes up a part of the overall story being told by the LP, and embracing cultural diversity features vocal samples and lyrics from eight different languages.

Some of the tracks are down tempo electronica and others are peak time house music, but each has its own special part of the dance floor.

The artwork is also an important part of Sol Selectas, as its design is carefully curated by Sabo’s fiancé Helia Jamali who captures the sound of each release with her stylish art design.
