For the 2nd episode of Ginene Radio, we tune into the pulse of Lusaka with She Spells Doom, bringing a set packed with original productions, exclusive edits and the unmistakable drive of heavy percussive drums, direct from the heart of Zambia’s capital.

Artist Bio.
SHE Spells Doom is an experimental Electronic music project created by Zambian producer, Wamya Tembo. It draws inspiration from a number of his influences, such as: 80s Sci-Fi/Horror movies, (Congolese) Rhumba/Soukous, Gqom and early 2000s Rap production, which he mixes with House and Techno elements he picked up from time living in Geneva, Switzerland. His style can best be described as hazy but driving - seeking to create a visceral atmosphere without neglecting the dancefloor by combining his trademark airy synth-lines with heavy drum programming. The past few years have seen him release music on labels such as All Centre, Tresor, Egregore Collective, Club Djembe, Sweat Equity, GODDEZZ, HTS and Basy Tropikalne.

🧨Known for club sets at Saturn and Unruly (including the recent Unruly showcase at Bonnaroo) and familial ties to Stroke, Escuincle leaves no waist un-snapped and no floor unsweated. But they surprise us here by offering something deeper, slinkier, stranger. This mix is textured, bass-heavy, expansive. It’s a soundscape for wandering minds and feral limbs; it’s a soundtrack to your favorite afters, the one you only remember in flashes.

📯Raised in ATL, shaped by its rhythms, and sharpened by his queer and latinx lineage, Escuincle moves like a dancer and selects like a shapeshifter. They can soundtrack the scene so well because they are the scene.
