Toronto emcee Ekko Effect is not your typical post-new school rapper chasing big bucks, European cars and R&B chicks.  He’s here hoping to use hip-hop to give a voice to those that wouldn’t have one otherwise, and shine a light on the struggles that young people face in today's society.

Ekko Effect’s rhymes come from the heart, outlining his pains, experiences, stories and successes. His raw emotions and truths outline life as he sees it, overcoming setbacks to become a better person and thereby inspiring others to do the same. His motivation is demonstrated though every track in his debut album Knowledge Speaks Wisdom Listens, a concept promoting the idea that how we perceive and use information is up to the individual, it is one’s responsibility to use it in a way that will improve ourselves and to shrink the gaps that we currently see in our society both politically and socially. Ekko’s biggest focus is to use his passion for hip hop in a way that can be received and appreciated by the masses while they experience with him his feelings and emotions of pain, love and hope that we all share.
