From the earnest defiance of “Amateur Photography” to the weary grace of “15 Years Out” and “Degas,” the album turns nostalgia into myth and regret into quiet redemption.

Equal parts elegy and memoir, Lore dignifies the ordinary, the bad bands, the heartbreaks, the parking-lot dreams, and finds meaning in the mistakes that shaped a life. It’s an album about growing older without losing the tenderness of who you were, and learning, finally, that every wrong turn was the right move all along.

That Was It

"Dreams" explores the melancholy found post-death of a loved one or pet (or both). The moments when you see someone and think it may be the one you have lost, and the unshakeable continuous grief that provides with every re-realisation of that not being the truth.

Musically, it comebines sombre tones with an upbeat melody as the conflicting emotions of strong love are both happy and grief ridden. Lyrically, it is written to pull in the unshakeable weight of the loss. 

East London was in mind, particularly EC3 (Bank) late morning on a busy Thursday, as this is where the most memorable version of this personal experience was felt. So many people, so alone, just walking.
