Raucous Alt. Rock / Pop four piece based out of Glasgow that bring a high energy live performance

LUCA are Mark Rankin (vocals/guitar) David McManus (drums) Andrew McLaughlin (bass) and Jonny Cairns (guitar).

“Sectioned” Is the debut mini album featuring the three self-released singles Anywhere, Summer and Hospital by the band. Recorded in Manchester’s Moolah Rouge Studios with Dan Broad (happy Mondays, I am Kloot) “Sectioned” is the result of endless hours in the studio writing and rehearsing finding their own sound.

Propelled forward by a pulsating bass line and a tom heavy drum groove, Channelling the pounding rhythms of early Interpol with a hint of Mogwai in its explosiveness, Sectioned envelops the listener is a wall of noise, placing them within the heart of the protagonist’s predicament.  

To accompany the sectioned LUCA have also release a three part short film with parts one and two really well received and garnering hundreds of view on YouTube despite the early stages of the band.

Formed in late 2011 after meeting through friends and a shared passion for the same music. Luca spent their early months with endless rehearsal sessions looking for the right sound before taking to the stage for their debut show as part of King Tuts New Year revolution festival and taking to the infamous Glasgow venues stage a further twice in that year. 

2013 started once again at King Tuts New Year revolution festival as the band were asked back to perform for the second year running before heading to Dumfries to play the “Big Burns Supper” alongside such acts as The Imagineers and Three Blind Wolves.

In march LUCA played at “The Tenement Trail” in a stellar line up of the best unsigned acts Scotland has to offer before their own headline tour in May sea them take in 5 dates through Scotland before various festival appearances are announced. 

The First of which was to be invited back to King Tuts Wah Wah hut as a special midnight guest for 2013’s Summer Nights festival as a midnight guest alongside such great acts as Carnivores, Kitty The Lion and Honey blood.

August will see LUCA play This Feeling, London’s premier Club night
