El Cameroon is a London based singer & songwriter from Scotland.

His introspective lyrics, acoustic guitar, and rugged voice combine to create spare but tuneful indie folk songs - regularly compared to many of his influences: Bright Eyes; Tallest Man on Earth, Neil Young and Bears Den. 

Growing up in the north of Scotland, his reverence for lyrics was instilled through a record collection left behind by his uncle. The Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Rolling Stones records led to other contemporary song writers such as Belle & Sebastian, Counting Crows and Damien Rice.

His first release, The Obsession EP was self-recorded following an extended trip through South America. The four tracks encompass many of those travelling emotions of love, loss and freedom.

I am a bit of a music/songwriting hobbyist. I write a ton of songs and often get requests to share scratch recordings so that is why I started using soundcloud. I do like all types of music but I tend to lean towards the more obscure artists than the one who get the majority of radio play. I always wonder some great talents never have been able to "make it" in music but I enjoy the stories that go along with all artist's careers and lives.
