Decided to release a cover of this old Scottish folk song after playing it my dad’s funeral last year. Miss you Hamish!

It’s not meant to be a sad though… old Ham-dog always said life was short… enjoy every day, keep learning, ignore the haters and TRAIN HARD.

Little Obsession

El Cameroon is a London based singer & songwriter from Scotland.

His introspective lyrics, acoustic guitar, and rugged voice combine to create spare but tuneful indie folk songs - regularly compared to many of his influences: Bright Eyes; Tallest Man on Earth, Neil Young and Bears Den. 

Growing up in the north of Scotland, his reverence for lyrics was instilled through a record collection left behind by his uncle. The Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Rolling Stones records led to other contemporary song writers such as Belle & Sebastian, Counting Crows and Damien Rice.

His first release, The Obsession EP was self-recorded following an extended trip through South America. The four tracks encompass many of those travelling emotions of love, loss and freedom.

Guess I’ll wait for another week or so or a year or two for you...
