With the release of their 7th album, The Motet once again showcase their commitment to pushing the sonic envelope while remaining dedicated to the musical traditions that have defined their sound. The new self-titled album boldly states that this is the band The Motet has strived to become. The whole has become greater than the sum of its parts with each member of the band contributing to the writing and arranging of the songs, telling a unified story through syncopated rhythms and melodies. The band has also decided to take an analog approach in the making of the album by using tape, tubes and transistors. This gives the music a warm, rich, and organic tone with the crunch and bite of a classic ‘70s funk record.

Family and community are the roots of Elder Grown, a band of brothers from Durango, Colorado. They consider every audience member to be their 6th collective member, the heartbeat that fuels their music.

Elder Grown creates a soul-inspired sound by blending funk, pop, rock, hip-hop, jazz, and reggae. Their improvisational jams serve as the foundation for their captivating and genre-bending music. With groovy bass lines, screaming guitar, and bold saxophone, they invite listeners on a rollercoaster ride of musical exploration. Switching instruments mid-song, Elder Grown defies conventions and takes you on a journey into the unrecognizably familiar.

The band has released two albums so far. Their debut album, "Fire On The Way," features a variety of original works. They also have an EP called "The Motorhome Mixes," which includes three songs that remain in their current setlist.

Currently, Elder Grown is working on their upcoming full-length album, which is self-produced and self-recorded. Set to be released in the spring, this album will showcase their authentic sound and provide listeners with a true Elder Grown experience.

The band's origin story dates back to the early 90s when the Hoffman brothers—Joshua, John, and Paul—grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, surrounded by their father's performances as a singer-songwriter. Their passion for music grew, and after moving to Southwest Colorado, they formed Elder Grown, embracing their multifaceted musical talents.

Sam Kelly, an (saxophone), joined the band during their time at Fort Lewis College. His love for saxophone and unique sound contributed to Elder Grown's evolution.

Brandon Clark, primarily a guitarist, expanded his skills to bass and keyboards to keep up with the band's instrument swapping. His love for classic rock and soulful tunes adds a creative touch to their sound.

Guillaume Metz, a professional guitarist from Paris, France, joined Elder Grown in 2019. His expertise as a lead guitarist, backup vocalist, and auxiliary bassist brought depth and richness to their performances.

Together, Elder Grown continues to captivate audiences with their soul-inspired sound and a commitment to pushing musical boundaries. With a new album on the horizon, they look forward to sharing their journey with their extended family of listeners.Biography:
Original Members of Elder Grown are Paul, John, and Josh Hoffman. We have been playing music together for the last few years, and grew up watching our cousins, father, uncles, grandparents, friends etc play music.

Music is the most influential aspect of our lives and is the catalyst with which we develop, control, expand and explore the simple straight forward ideas of Life, Love, Peace, and Music. 

We are originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico and Denver, Colorado and were lucky enough to be raised around a very loving, caring, and talented family along side wonderful friends. 

With our music we seek to represent that which all these amazing people in our lives have instilled within each of us. This fact is best represented by the story of the decision of our band name.

We came to the idea of the band name Elder Grown, because Elder is the maiden name of the Hoffman boy's late Grandmother Marion Elder Hoffman, (born and raised in Australia, Cheers to the family in WA). 

She stood as the epitome of how we live our lives and what we seek to represent with our music. So it was a very easy decision to call ourselves Elder Grown, because that is exactly what we are, 

and naturally we can be nothing more, and nothing less. Thanks to all who support our endeavor into a life of music. Thanks for listening, thanks for dancing, and most of all thanks for inspiring!
