For the Love of Something )Rework) - Released 8-December-2023 It's been seven years! A Rework and Remaster of the original first single by Paul Handley

All at Sea - Released

“It has been a year, I have been immersed with writing this album since October 2022, it truly has been a journey, with it’s, ‘all at sea’ moments”. 
After an overly long break of three years, we have the new 10 song album, All at Sea, a fresh return to the solo project which began in 2016. This work continues within parameters marked out from previous releases and is in some ways, a culmination of elements from all of them. An end of an auspicious seven-year cycle perhaps? One of the more notable characteristics throughout Paul’s music, is the inclusion of female, non-lyrical voice effects and harmonies, an aspect that creates an added dimension, striving to define the emotive intent of tracks that are in essence, instrumental synth-pop compositions. The song, Countenance is the exception, incorporating vocals and violin from a previous work.
These new songs are more upbeat in comparison to the last album, Reflect and Release, perhaps more club oriented with a footfall more akin to EBM, industrial and cyberpunk. The journey doesn’t seem like it will be stopping here, keep an eye out for some remix material in early 2024 

Reflect and Release – Album - Digital Release: 21-Feb-2020
Here we have the 5th work put out by Australian, Adelaide based artist Paul Handley. It has been the intention to present a new release each year or so, these songs were written between March and December 2019. While perhaps only a minor digression from previous albums, the characteristic, beat driven electronica, is a touch more laid back this time. It is distinguished by an increased presence of choral female voices (albeit, a self-confessed ‘Clannad’ moment or two). Despite being instrumental, lacking the immediacy of lyrics, the thoughts and emotions perceived within are all related to a personal exploration and liberation, …of reflecting and releasing. 

It may require a few listens to become familiar with the intrinsic form of this unconventional take of ethereal, downtempo. While listening, I suggest you fasten your attention to the deep bass rhythms found woven within the ensemble of processed drums (with their sporadic bursts of industrial mania), and allow the gentler synth melodies and polarising sonic tempests to swirl and play out around you.

FEBRUARY 2018 - New Album - ‘Midnight Zone’ has emerged a little over a year since this Adelaide based, Australian artists last album, ‘What Goes Around’. Here is another instrumental work, retaining a familiar style, where Ambient/Dance fundamentals are steeped with prominent bass lines and uplifting rhythm patterns. Progressing on from this established framework, continued evolvement is noted by additional ‘synth-voice’ textures, and greater orchestral complexities, the latter is particularly seen in the tracks ‘Eclipsed’ and ‘Lost Horizon’. This album appears to be more refined in character, with an enhanced clarity and cohesiveness, but still retains a reasonably broad gamut of moods and intensities. Lighter songs such as ‘First One Then Many’, comfortably sit alongside, the resoundingly more energetic ‘Midnight Zone’ and ‘Wayward’.
 
Regardless to the depths of introspective brooding, (as the title is intended to suggest), such contemplative sentiments are counterbalanced by compelling bursts euphoria and jubilation. ‘A Brighter Day’, for example, was written whilst in a state of delirium during a bout of the flu, lifting up one’s spirits!
       Imagine rays of sunlight making their way down to the ocean depths, there they may appear, to illuminate a direction of optimism, and passage of release …from the Midnight Zone!!
SEPTEMBER 2016 - New Music by Paul Handley
Adelaide based, Australian musician Paul Handley has had a busy 18 months working towards writing 10 new electronic/instrumental songs for an album now called, 'What Goes Around'. As a prelude to this, a digital release, single, ‘For the Love of Something’, came out in August and is available in online music stores. A special feature of this three song, release, is a remix of the title track, by the Berlin based artist Emika (www.emikarecords.com), who creates a gentle but powerful version which embodies, a rich atmosphere of strings and vocal textures.

Minimal Wave, Electronic, Gothic and Post Punk from Minimal Kommando. Minimal Kommando was a retro avantgarde electronic music project created by musician and composer Andreas Ohle and uses minimal and electronic sounds influenced by the early 80s. Minimal Kommando originally had been founded in 2013 with the aim to produce music that is weird and a little bit psychotic. The lyrics are about the life and failure of a human being in our crazy modern world and his attempts to struggle with everyday life.
