Electric Cherry is a Brisbane based power-trio made up of bassist/lead singer Diego “Dingo” Manriquez, guitarist Jarrard Potter and drummer Calvin Dunn. Taking their cues from classic hard rock acts such as Guns ‘N Roses and Motorhead, and blending the groove of new rock acts such as the Eagles of Death Metal and Tame Impala, Electric Cherry is a band with one sole aim: to rock, and rock hard.
Formed in late 2010, Electric Cherry have been working hard on crafting their own slices of rock and roll, as well as building up a solid set list of hard rock classics and giving well known songs their own “Cherry” flavour. After successful gigs headlining the Globe Theatre and rocking the Brews Brothers Microbrewery, Electric Cherry released their independent EP, “Cherry Pop” in late 2011. This led to Electric Cherry being a featured artist on an Off the Record compilation CD as well as appearing in Time Off magazine. Since then they have rocked the Music Kafe in West End. Electric Cherry are always keen to gig and would appreciate the opportunity to have their own brand of rock be heard to the masses.
