John Connolly first started to play the trombone at the age of 14. He soon progressed to principal trombone of the Young sinfonia, the north easts top youth ensemble. during his time with the Young Sinfonia, based at the Sage Gateshead, he was fortunate enough to be invited to play in the proms with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra through various projects with the Sage Gateshead. He then went on to study at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama under the tuition of Simon Johnson, Principal trombone of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Lance Green former Principal trombone of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and John Kenny, International Soloist. During his time at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama he developed his orchestral and solo skills with the help of his teachers and has played professionally with some of Scotlands leading professional orchestra's including; the BBC Scottish Symphony orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Orchestra of Scottish Opera. In September 2011 he was awarded a trial with the BBCSSO for the position of Principle Second Trombone and as a result played some interesting and challenging repetoire. As a Teacher John has been trombone tutor for the HNC Music course at Ayr College and has a wealth of experiece teaching children and adults in various setting including an educational trip to the Faroe islands with the Academy Brass ensemble teaching Children and Adults in groups ranging from 4 to 500.  He currently teaches for Northumberland County Council, The Sage Gateshead and for some of the leading private schools in the north east.

Scotland-based saxophonist and composer Jay Capperauld graduated with distinction from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland after studying Saxophone under the tutelage of Josef Pacewicz. As a saxophonist, Jay has worked with some of the major Scottish Orchestras including; the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Ballet, Scottish Opera and the Scottish Festival Orchestra and has also performed with the Scotland-based Saxophone Quartet, Sax-Ecosse. 
As a composer, Jay has had many successful performances of his works within Scotland; writing for various Instrumentalists and Ensembles including; BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, 
Red Note Ensemble, Live Music Now’s Flercussion, MusicLab, Ensemble Thing, Said Ensemble and has also worked with members of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.  Jay has worked alongside BBCSSO conductor, Ilan Volkov, in "Hypnic Impact," for solo Soprano Saxophone and Wind Orchestra, which featured Jay himself as the soloist. 
More recently however, Jay achieved success by winning 1st prize in the Dinah Wolfe Memorial Prize 2013 with his work for solo Piano, Christus Tantasticus, which premiered earlier in 2013 with internationally renowned pianist, Sinae Lee, as the performer. 
And, Jay has also recently collaborated on a Ballet with Choreographer, Hubert Essakow, which celebrated the centennial anniversary of Igor Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring.” The Ballet premiered at the Tramway (Glasgow) in May of 2013 with dancers from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and instrumentalists from the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Pierre-André Valade. 
Jay is in his final year of studies in the Masters of Composition course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of Gordon McPherson.

Kirsty-Jacqueline Lingard, originally from north Angus on the east coast of Scotland, moved to Edinburgh in 2001 to Study at the 'School of Scottish Studies', Edinburgh University, where she first picked up the fiddle and started to play. She also lived on the isle of Skye for a period of time too. 

Although briefly taught by Gregor Borland and attending a few ALP Scots music group classes, she is largely self-taught, but describes this decision as on the of those great life choices! She has gigged throughout Scotland and in Scandinavia, Europe and the U.S., her influences are scottish (n-e and west coast style predominantly) and nordic.
