around 30 years ago, I extremly liked this track.. a beautiful memory..

Sophie du Palais, also known as Vrouwe Fataal, is a German vocalist and recording artist from Amsterdam. Sophie du Palais’ sound mixes elements of sinister and commanding vocals – reminiscent of Miss Kittin’ – to create an infectious vortex of panic.

After a night of experimenting in a studio and uploading her first track on Soundcloud, Pinkman Records stumbled upon the profile. She released twice on Pinkman which is known for having a third ear out for the very finest sounds of tomorrow.

Sophie du Palais’ and Identified Patient’s haughty, somewhat punky track ‘Crush On You’ caught fire with the burgeoning international crowd and her stony vocals similarly lined up with their Dekmantel release “The drip” a year later.

A series of early productions on various artists compilations were scattered throughout 2020.

While dance floors were going wild from Sao Paolo to Moscow and India, Du Palais was finalizing her debut EP. This collection of clubby productions with new wave sensibilities will be released on BFE Records in July 2021.

Finishing off the A-side is Italian super-duo SONS OF TRADERS [SOT/Frigio/Black Lodge] aka Tans X Mike Tansella Jr. with the acidic cut "Indianapolis" also released last year by BL on tape and digitally from their first full length album entitled "Crollo Nervoso". Side B blasts off with the early Chicago house inspired track "Passion" by prolific Dresden producer SNEAKER [Uncanny Valley/Rat Life/Frigio]. Closing off the comp is a dirty warehouse banger/burner by e-spirit, a new alias from LA producer DELIVERY [LA Club Resource/Valcrond Video.

The DJ and hardware focussed producer has been impressing with his work for some time with deadly releases on labels like Electric Shapes, Sign Bit Zero, numerous on Pinkman Broken Dreams, on towLie's kaften label, on Arma Records as his alias Golden Axe and others. With the recent Ukraine war, he has made it a point as a Russian artist to take a stance against violence and speak out. He has contributed in many ways including all sales from his EP on Pinkman this year as well as being part of the fundraiser compilation by Global Warming Records which was curated by Yssue and featured 22 Russian artists. Exhausted Modern is a project established by Czech musician Ladislav Zensor whose approach to sound creates metaphorical expression of fatigue which comes from living in a world where technology takes over. In his compositions accent is put on analogue sound with a slightly raw character. The percussive passages are interluded with melodic elements which altogether create very atypical, personal and often dystopic sound. Work of Exhausted Modern is regularly released on well-established labels as Brokntoys, Veyl or Rotterdam Electronix. He also releases his music thru label Endless Illusion which he co-founded together with Raphael Kosmos back in 2011. Together they as well create series of mixes for radio stations including Integalactic.FM. He always tries to bring unconventional glimpse into electronic music combining old forgotten tapes with the current avant-garde sound.

A recording above was done by Exhausted Modern at a Lithuanian festival - Supynes Playground 2019 - where he was invited by curators of that stage, online media platform Calypso Magazine. Accompanied by another artist, responsible for the live visual projections - Mgla2080, from Polish electro-industrial crew SYNTETYK, Exhausted Modern’s live set was taken to a new intense and unique sonic experience that audience could live through.
