Have you ever been to Goa? With the next release of the Lithuanian label Electric Shapes, you have a chance not only to (re)visit it, but to also feel the power of its unique sounds. “Chaos Is Order Yet Undeciphered” is full of mystery, drama, and of course: Goa Trance. Result of the creative mind of talented Russian producer Rambal Cochet (aka Volta Cab), the powerful 11-track album is divided into eight outstanding originals and three interesting remixes made with love by Jokios Kultūros, Tassilo Vanhöfen, and Anatolian Weapons.

"Deckard's Dream", the track we chose to premiere/review, is a 110-BPM beast. Its trippy pads and melodic synth layer are mesmerizing. You can actually feel yourself immersed in a dream, numb, lost in its trancy atmosphere. The entire album is full of sensation-trigger themes – its main characteristic, actually. Originals and remixes, restlessly, seem to be on a mission: Disturb your senses and put you away from reality. Something we might be in need of at the moment. 

An interesting fact about “Chaos Is Order Yet Undeciphered” (what a great name, by the way): It is also available in a super cool limited-edition cassette. We got ours (thanks for the gift, Aleksandr), get yours, peeps!

New Swiss label Rababoo is proud to present his first release: Marcel de Sie! Oscillating between melodic industrial and shaky psychedelic music, Mr. de Sie overcomes his first 3 tracks with a static approach of electronic low drifts – in that sense, we decided to call it a soundtrack “to schuss'', in dedication to all our ski friends from here and there. The first 2 tracks, “Filter Seq'' and “Mezzo FM'' pitch the tone of the EP and are built as explorations of dance floor narratives, with the purpose to generate a wave state of mind through a real sound experience. While the first track is a relentless technoïd filter-driven smasher which immediately bleeps your mind and floods it with sound, the second track unleashes a cascade of sounds that brings any lost hiker back on track and drives him into a shamanic waltz in the mountains. 

The title track “Poetic Frame” is a direct response to these soundscapes, where howling, disturbing synths are at times chimera that fractures the pattern and calls you back to reality.

For his 1st release, Marcel de Sie is joined by Greek producer Anatolian Weapons (Dark Entries) and Belgian’s Victor de Roo (Stroom) for the remixes. Each one delivers a proper interpretation of the 3rd track of the EP “Poetic Frame”. While Anatolian Weapons explores a tribal trance sonic journey that can drive a Dervish dancer crazy, De Roo makes use of his distinguished style and creates the most abstracted version of this track. Not scared to apply kind of a trap snare ratcheting, he brings us to a space urban take.

Finnish- Berlin - based OBI BLANCHE makes his Ombra INTL Debut with a powerful kraut-punk acid tinged jam channeling his roots in the guitar and fringe electronic
scenes as a staple member for years in the Anika band, as well as Thomas Azier. From Palawan was partly produced in the heart of the Loatian mountains, with samples found during Mura Mura‘s last roadtrip in South East Asia. Back in Lyon, his moog and his guitar we do the rest.“
French Dark Italo-tech prince, BACK FROM THE WAVE conjures an emotional ride for the strobe filled dance floors and Tokyo‘s prolific QUE SAKAMOTO joins forces with his friend NT to bring us a sludged out electro banger. Lyon‘s MURA MURA makes his Ombra debut as well, takes us on a slow and funky hypnotic journey with a song
composed in the Loatian Mountains with samples from his last trip in South East Asia.
Last but not least, the mysterious Naples-based Dark Wave screamo band bring a 136 bpm post punk infused anthem for the end of days.

For his first solo EP, Tushen Raï designed a record in the form of a colorful patchwork of sounds, a meticulous collage of samples, surrounding noises and synthesizers. Here, Maori percussion dug on field recording discs from the late 60s and 70s meet Indonesian chants recorded on phones and posted anonymously online. A nostalgic yet deeply contemporary testimony to an imagination weakened resulting from the cultural globalization. 

With "Drums Circles", Tushen Raï wants to reconnect with the adventure novels, from Jules Vernes to Barjavel, which nourished his childhood. Thought out as an ode to the diversity of our cultures, our practices and our beliefs, "Drums Circles" is a cry in favor of open-mindedness and curiosity. It is an invitation to discovery rather than to conquest. 

A humble invitation to embark on a journey and to collective trance.

This is Yani Ani's second release, his first for Lurid Music, an artist from Tel Aviv who is also an up-and-coming visual designer and photographer with work published in C-Heads and Vogue Italia, among others. Roe Deers, one of favorite producers from the Vilnius scene, was kind enough to accept our invitation to remix one of the tracks. Full vinyl release is expected in mid 2021.

Yani Ani - Crossroad (Roe Deers Remix)

Belly Dance Services  (@bellydanceservices) welcomes 2021 with a delightful collaboration between Günce Aci and Fat&Bald (@fatandbaldmusic). The 11th release consists of two original cuts plus two remixes by Theus Mago and Fabio Me Llaman Soltero. 

Istanbul based DJ/Producer Günce Aci (@gunceaci) is around the cities club scene since 2014. In addition to her DJ career she has become one of the most interesting producers of Istanbul. Her sound is mostly characterized by raw live cuts and an extraordinary garage-sound fused into dance music. Ankara based Fat&Bald – a project run by Ortac Genc – joins the EP’s title giver ''Being and Nothingness’’ with silky guitar elements, adding an Sonic Youth-ish rock vibe to the track. Their second original track ‘'The Absurd’’ is a hypnotic dark approach to rock and dance fusion filled with minimalistic drum grooves, a four-note baseline and hypnotic synth elements. The unpolished rawness of this track definitely brings a fresh breeze to the table. The EP continues with an outstanding remix by Guatemalan producer Fabio Me Llaman Soltero, who awards listeners with his own temper filled interpretation of the EP’s title giver ''Being and Nothingness’’. The grande finale is delivered by the one and only Theus Mago, who’s playful version of '‘The Absurd’’ evokes nostalgia for late night drifters.
