If the shoe fits, why not make it six?
Although that statement is more an alliteration than a rhyme, it has not deterred us at Play Pal from gathering together talent from across the globe for a sixth compilation showcasing an array of producers and musicians who like to lurk in the darker recesses of the musical spectrum.

The roster for this new compilation includes talented artists and friends such as Arvin Fajar, Andreas Rund, Vongold, Alberto Melloni, M Love, Leo af Ekenstam, and Manner Of Speaking.

The situation we’re witnessing in Gaza is heartbreaking. While the world watches, over 30,000 innocent Palestinian people, many of whom were children, have been killed and over 70,000 more injured in attacks since October 7th. Homes, neighbourhoods and cities have been destroyed, and most of the population has been displaced and left without food, clean drinking water, electricity and fuel. 

The UK government has continued to allow Israel’s bombardment in the region and chosen not to back consistent calls for a ceasefire, despite the overwhelming majority of the UK public being in favour.

In an effort to raise money for Palestinian aid charities, I’ve reached out to lots of talented artists who have kindly contributed their music to this incredibly important cause. 

Sonically it traverses chugging electronics, proto electro, Italo dance, UK techno and leftfield bass from artists like JD Twitch, Ambien Baby, Lisene, GoodMostlyBad and Azo, all of whom are joining our call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

All proceeds from the compilation will be split 50/50 between two charities who are working hard to provide support and humanitarian aid in Gaza: Medical Aid Palestine and War Child UK.

Musically speaking Germany’s 'Koenig Saatgut' real name Björn Petrikat is a rare find in an often over saturated world and it's with great pleasure to present the artists debut release on Spin On This.
'The Milky Way EP' features 4 on-point tracks with mastering duties coming from 'Peace Divisions' Justin Drake.
The EP named following the lead track showcases some of the killer works from the artist making it the perfect recipe for this summer's festival season and beyond.
Björn's early influences have encompassed the likes of Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk after then being magically attracted to the early acid house techno and Chicago house scenes with works from labels such as 'Dance Mania', 'Relief', 'Cajual' and 'Henry Street'.
All the artists influences spiral and cosmically collide together here to form an EP brimming with emotional energy and a masterclass into the underground.

After a brief hiatus Wu returns with an album of guitar adjacent tunes pondering the age-old question - does guitar belong in house music?
Probably not but this didn't stop him from trying..
Originally a guitar player and jazz student, the journey into electronic music led him to putting the instrument aside whilst he found his electronic music production chops. Now with releases
under his belt and likely harboring a delusional disorder about his abilities, the idea of mixing house with 70's prog rock, funk, blues, pop, breaks, latin, deep house and elevator music bore fruit.

Michele Mininni's debut album 'Pop Archetypes' from back in May proved to be a left-of-centre favourite all summer long. Its effortless blend of jazz, broken beats and world music wooed both DJs and dancers alike, which is why Hell Yeah Recordings now exacts a first digital package from it. Standout single 'Urban Voodoo' features in original form next to two fresh reworks from Keita Sano, one of which is Bandcamp only.

'Urban Voodoo' lives up to its name with an intoxicating blend of mystic melodies, busy rhythms and exotic strings. It's dense yet loose and grows ever more wild as a patchwork of vocals, chants and cries emerges from the mix next to rousing chords.

Mister Saturday Night, Let’s Play House and 1080P associate Keita Sano hails from Okayama, Japan. He has a sound that defines easy categorisation as it blends club grooves, trippy experimentalism and global influences. His Good Luck remix strips things back to a deep techno rhythm and details it with delicate melodic refrains before rebuilding with the sound cracking whips, tribal percussion and lashings of black magic. The Urban Smell Remix is a wild nine-minute dance around the campfire with iconic synth samples, tons of reverb and percolating drum funk that will keep you guessing.
