narration: There are places where things begin and end. A wanderer follows a brook upstream and reaches the spring which is in deep shadows under a large rock and trees. The soil underfoot is nearly liquid. This is a beginning, not understood. A single leaf lands on his head, splitting it open. The liquid protruding from it runs  throughout his life. It's a story crackling with age. A romantic movie? Yes, why not.

Später war da ein Rinnsal,
das sich den Abhang hinabwand.
Dem Wasser zu folgen, führte
den Wanderer bergan.

Die Quelle fand sich
unter einem gewaltigen Felsen.
So feucht war der Grund dort,
dass die Füße einsanken, als weile
felsab ein Gewässer aus fließendem Gur.
 Ein Schatten lag baumwipfelschwarz,
wuchtig und unberührbar darüber, von
vereinzelten Lichttupfen durchnetzt.
Hier ist ein Anfang, den keiner versteht,
der einfach da ist, so oder so.

Ein Blatt löste sich und
fiel auf den Scheitel
des Wandernden, sanft und so
chirurgisch präzise, dass
es die Schale des Schädels aufbrach
als sei die Fontanelle eine ur-
sprünglich angelegte Sollbruchstelle.
Das Nass, das sich daraus ergoss, floss
als ein Menschendasein durch
die Zeit seines Lebens.

I always wanted to make a sonic companion to the last song Bitzone, Frawstakwa, and I made together, “What Difference Does It Make.” I finally got my chance. This one came together real fast. Bitzone sent me a raw beat, I asked Frawstakwa to kick it off, and then I made some arrangement adjustments and laid down my lyrics and vocals based on Frawstakwa’s. Bitzone then finished it up and bada-boom, gotta move, gotta shake!

Massive thanks to Frawstakwa for bringing the fresh ideas and original verse and chorus vocals. And big thanks to Bitzone for always make the tracks more vivid than I could imagine. 

May there always be at least a little time to bounce in your week!
