Not many positives have come from COVID-19 but Lauren finally taking the plunge into mixing has been a definite plus for everyone, whether you know it yet or not.

Now Glasgow-based but originally from Dundee, we have partied with her long before Hilltown Disco days.  From Thursday-Sunday sessions at our beloved home of the Reading Rooms, to infamous Commercial Street parties, Hazra has always had the ear for killer tunes and has really just always got it - which can be felt in this mix.

The set was recorded mid-isolation when she had COVID which makes the result even more impressive.  A mix for the dancers and for the nights of the future.

CYRK is a live show and studio duo born from the visions of two Berlin-based producers, Samy Goossens and Pascal Hetzel. They have been playing around the world as a live act, bringing their Detroit-influenced blend of house, techno, acid and electro to some of the world’s best dancefloors. From their extensive hardware set up, they fuse tough, eyes-down grooves with lively basslines and restrained, melodic atmospheres. 'Arcadia' is the next layer in this exciting series by Replicants. This third set of retro electro cuts delves deeper inward - inside the machine. Blinks and beeps, binary sequences, light patterns and primitive code... form and function generated through analog machines... born of diodes, integrated circuits and capacitors... the programs come alive.

'Twenty Thousand Hurts' and 'Ex' rock the floor in the old school way, prominently referencing the classic proto-electro sound, with Replicants' added layer of technicolor excess. 'Arcadia' turns this sonic space inside out and the game becomes hyper-reality where bit-crushed microchip madness battles shimmering frequency modulation atmospheres for sonic supremacy.

Replicants explores a unique angle on early breakbeat and rave elements with 'Mood'. Once familiar frantic hits and staple breaks are new again, wielded as a focused mid tempo trip through rolling swells of side-chained atmosphere.

'Trance Pants' references classic Kraftwerk in its cryptic vocoder hits while grooving in a syncopated bouncy style that loses itself in extreme echo effects and chiptune mayhem. Thick 808 serves as the anchor in a maelstrom of abstract electro.

Following the approach of the previous EPs in this series, Replicants includes a killer set of bonus alternate mixes in the Bandcamp release package.
