Relaxing

“Set Us Free” is the title track off the EP between Koresma and Matt May (@mrmattmay). This song was started in Asheville, NC with the nothing but pure good vibes. After both artists moved to California in 2019, they gathered at Matt's studio near San Francisco to finish the song and record visuals. 

The tune is a funky, feel good jam that lends itself to R’n’B, garage style drums, and ambient electronic atmosphere. Not to mention the ending takes off with some gospel like guitars. 

While not knowing the significance, the name is a perfect fit for what is going on in the world as lockdowns are receding from the pandemic that’s lasted over a year. “Set Us Free" is an ode to coming together again and living the lives we were meant to live.

"Beacon" is chill track that's still suited for the dance floor from Koresma and @Skysia. The track started in LA mid pandemic and then was bounced around remotely and even was worked on by Skysia in his bus turned mobile studio. Wanting to give the track a human and emotional element, the producers recorded with a string quartet to bring in the last cinematic element.

Waves is a soulful downtempo jam that takes its inspiration from the ebb and flow of ocean waves. The dusty drums and vintage guitar lines create a bed of nostalgia reminiscent of old surf films like the Endless Summer, while the dreamlike vocal from Alaska Reid adds a modern contrast leading the listener through intricate instrumental electronic sections. 
 
“This song was inspired by the feeling of surfing a wave and the culture built around it. Having grown up surfing in Florida I spent countless hours watching surf movies and hoping to soundtrack them one day. The movie Endless Summer connected with me as a kid and I too dreamed of chasing down perfect waves on remote islands. Waves is the soundtrack to this quest and I hope it can take you somewhere.”

The inspiration behind "All Turn to One" started with some guitar chords and vocals Koala Karlous sent over email. After trying a few ideas out we settled on this moving arrangement. While producing the song we kept coming back to the theme that although we all may be very different physically, mentally, spiritually as humans, when you break it down to the core we are all one in the same. "All Turn to One" is aimed at breaking down the barriers and letting you accept/love.

“El Sol” is the 2nd single from Koresma and Matt May’s (@mrmattmay) upcoming EP “Set Us Free”. “El Sol” is a moody piece that takes its inspiration from California coast sunsets. The feeling of the warmth and colors washing over is very much like the feeling of the atmosphere in El Sol. The song takes some influence from Bossa Nova and other Latin originated music as well as features textured pads, ambient vocals, and a hypnotic drum beat that mimic the flow of light and motion of the waves.
