Here's one for the weekend. 

I composed this jig a few years ago in honour of a good friend of mine. The full name of the tune is actually "Michael Kennedy's Triumphant Return". Mike was President of the United Irish Societies of Montreal in 2012-13. He is always out and about in the Irish community and in Montreal communities doing amazing things to help the people that need it! He is like the brother I never had... :)

This tune was worked out in GarageBand, with elements of Figure, SunVox and iElectribe added. Mixed/Mastered in Logic Pro X and AudioMastering.

There is a legend that centipedes are actually aliens which arrived on earth many millennia ago from another galaxy, and are actually causing the deterioration of all things created by humans, in preparation for an invasion.

These creatures are under the effect of a shrinking ray... full sized they are about the same size as an eighteen-wheeler.

So crush all centipedes under foot whenever possible... before... it's too late...

This song is based on a pretty heavy "What If?" premise. A person comes to the end of his life and goes somewhere to face judgment... and is informed that he will be sent back a second time, another chance to live a life. His answer might astound you as science meets spirituality in this pretty cool, somewhat gritty STDM song.

A one-man, iOS, Cybernetic, Mutagenic, Electro-Celtic Fusion Wonder band. "They could clone Dolly but they couldn't clone ME...!" 

Welcome to the world of 

Supersonic Tartan Death Machine (STDM) = Bagpipe-Driven Electro-Celtic Fusion. I call it "électrocelte". Recorded @ BearCave Studios Montreal using an iPad + iPhone + a host of awesome iOS apps.

Instruments used include: Great Highland Bagpipe, Border Pipes, John Walsh Shuttle Pipes, Practice Chanter, Irish Whistle in A, B flat,and D, Bombarde, Voice. 

Tech Tools used include: CME X-key 25 MIDI Controller, iPad, iPhone, Zoom H6, iRig HD, Propellerhead Balance, Sennheiser Dynamic headphones. 

Apps used include (amongst others)Animoog, Audacity, Audiobus, Audioshare, Audio Mastering, Beatmaker 2, BeatTime, dJay, Figure, FourTrack, Glitchbreaks, Impaktor, Korg Gadget, Logic Pro X, NanoStudio, ReMaster, Reason 8, Samplr, studio.HD, SunVox, THOR, ThumbJam, Turnado and of course GarageBand for iOS.

Music: the music and stylings are widely varied. From traditional tunes to self-composed original bagpipe compositions, to covers of popular Scottish songs, or even rock songs. There really are no limits... new ideas are churning through my mind almost weekly. Some tunes start off with a bagpipe tune. Others start off with a few beats worked out on an iOS device. I often sing new tunes to myself, record them on my iOS device and then write them down... and the creative process continues...
