"It's in Seoul, South Korea, a few years ago, that I really started to mix, especially at the Puxxyberry café parties (local queer scene). I had the chance to meet many women DJs with whom we organized parties. When I arrived in Nantes, I wanted to find this community spirit around electronic music, and I had the chance to meet the Zone Rouge collective during their party at Askip. Following this meeting, the two founders Soa and Aasana proposed me to join the collective. I am delighted because I find this spirit of community and sisterhood that I had known in Seoul. Concerning my musical universe, it's quite difficult for me to describe it because I have the impression to always evolve musically. In my early days I was very much influenced by techno, house, acid house, trance, tribal house now I've added to my universe breaks and experimental sounds."

"I had prepared a totally different playlist for this mix and I could not be satisfied. One night, after the new government announcements I decided to mix to take my mind off things and have some fun. I started to mix some of my favorite sounds of the year and also some sounds that I love and that I don't often have the opportunity to play. Especially tracks from Ohyung and Net Gala. And the C Lab set was born!
If I had to name this mix I would call it: "Beauty in chaos", because I find that it mixes very angry sounds with airy and soft sounds. It's a mix of all the emotions that were in me and needed to come out. "

"Peach, Octa Octa and Eris Drew were the first DJs and producers to inspire me. Listening to their DJ sets is what got me started. Currently, I really like Closet Yi and the Salamada duo (composed of Uman and Yetsuby) which are three Korean DJs and producers. I'm really a fan of all their productions and I often play their tracks in my mixes. Their universes speak to me a lot. Salamanda is a leftfield ambient duo, I strongly recommend you to listen to their sets for HÖR Berlin and for FACTmagazine. Closet Yi is a very active producer who regularly releases new sounds that are always very good. I knew her with her duo-b2b "C'est Qui" with the DJ and producer Naone (who released a nice EP with S.O.N.S). As a French producer I really like what Jan Loup does. Both her sets and her productions are always journeys, bewitching sound experiences.
Finally, I really like the Korean queer and feminine collective Nek-O Future Club composed of Bamboo Princess, Yung Girl and Yuzo. It is a collective that proposes a futuristic visual musical universe, to be followed! "

“Celebration of Nostalgia” mix with Smaja, a French artist from Rennes, Brittany. After 5 years of musical training in a band (The Flashers, Periods), she has been writing and composing solo for 2 years and has released her first EP "Satan's Supports Girl Power".
Between the nostalgia of the amplifiers and the fascination of this new musical time, Smaja tries to show a messy palette of her influences which rock her for a long time.

After the stoppage we have suffered due to the current problem in the supply of physical discs, we have decided to release this compilation in digital format to overcome the material obstacles that hinder the release of music.
After three years of starting our journey as a label, we take stock of what we have learned and where we want to be. Under The Stone is the result of a conscious awareness of the spectacularized and speculative electronic music that prevails today.A conscious and proud stance regarding the consumerist concepts of macro festivals and selfies that distort the idea of collective culture. The title refers to the double movement involved in lifting a stone. On the one hand, discovering the extraordinary ecosystem that is hidden underneath, and on the other, the act of throwing away the stone that was keeping it crushed.
This album brings together a few artists, some to be discovered and others more established, but who share a common denominator, powerful sound and a challenge to established consumption clichés. We want to thank all the artists who are part of the compilation for giving shape and meaning to the idea that orbits this release.

[Premiere] Minimum Syndicat - Belgian UFO Wave

My label Stockholm LTD turned 15 recently, so I decided it was time for a little celebration. I'm happy and grateful for the past, and I can’t wait to see what will happen next. Here's how it all started:

Södermalm, Stockholm 1999. The capacity of the store was probably less than 20. The cold and industrial-tinged interior featured ash grey walls, rust-free steel accents, and a magnificently elevated cashier desk. The ceiling was an impressive 3.5 meters with two massive speakers hanging above the cashier. Shelves and bins stocked with vinyl, tapes, and magazines covered the walls. In the storefront, you would find the listening stations with turntables that sit nicely inside their desks. While you listened to the week’s new releases, you’d be treated to a view of the blooming streets of Södermalm as people rushed by. There was a small sign with operating hours in the window which also said “TECHNO / ELECTRO. Welcome to Illegal Stockholm!”

Illegal Stockholm was founded by Tobias Von Hofsten and myself in late 1998. It became our home, blood, sweat, and tears for a good 4-5 years. I was only 18 years old at the time and still in school when we opened its doors. I couldn’t think of anything cooler or more fun than hanging out, talking and listening to music all day and night. After we closed the shop at night. We would hang in the ‘office’ which was the store’s back room. I forged life life-long friendships and gave birth to the idea of Stockholm LTD. I wanted to show people a slightly different side of our scene. The original idea was to keep the recording artist secret with no names announced on the release, but the idea fell flat as people figured it out the day of our first release. Since then, the concept of the label has changed a few times but the core idea and desire remains the same: releasing timeless electronic music.

Stockholm LTD has stood the test of time, it’s not that many labels that stay current for that long. This is only possible with the help of all the artists I’ve been working with over the years. To say I am extremely grateful is an understatement!

With this in mind, let’s celebrate the label’s 15th anniversary with a 5 part release! 15Y contains remixes by some of my favorite artists at the moment. They have all picked and reworked something from my part of the label’s back catalog. The series will stretch out over a set of 5 vinyl singles with a special anniversary sleeve and a beautiful engraving made by graphic designer Håkan Ullberg.

Releasing music since 2009 as Sam KDC, British artist Samuel Wood has grown into one of electronic music's most passionate developers of the outer edge. In recent years, Sam has been an integral part of the Grey Area label and sound, a creative musical pathway that ties a musical bridge between 85 and 128 bpm with crafty polyrhythms. As further evidence of his versatility, his debut LP 'Late Night Innominate' Vol 1 (2015 - Auxiliary) was an entirely ambient long player which found favour across the electronic music world for its emotive power.

Omen Rising, Sam’s debut LP for Horo is also his first full length record to focus entirely on beat driven work. The album further incorporates the occult themes Sam has been using as pervading signifiers since his 2014 EP ‘The Order and the Entity’. Musically, Omen Rising sees the Grey Area sound re built into a hurtling fireball of energy stretching the constraints of what we know as Techno until the straps are blown off. 

Omen Rising is a confident showcase from an artist who has found a defining sound and is revelling in his ability to develop it entirely out on his own.

Tumultuous beats immersed with obscure ritualistic soundscapes. ‘Descending Void’ is a 5-track EP on Voidance Records (Berlin), marking the versatile character of Llimbs’ project. The opening tracks, ‘Oblivion’ and ‘Mass’, boldly pronounce Llimbs’ more abrasive aspect, carved through rhythmic broken beats, ominous chanting and sharp industrial textures. The following three tracks have a more experimental approach, with Side B composed of noisy ambiences and slow heavy rhythms. Voidance Records will be releasing a set of marbled vinyls and an exclusive bonus track for the first 100 limited edition copies of this release.
